@夢 Really the question would be how well multithreaded it all is. Would be an interesting test if 8 cores is no longer enough for that kind of streaming with a few different games. The individual workloads might saturate too badly, that's the old gaming issue. (I imagine for Botan Intel would still be best, Fps games are notoriously 1 thread workloads, and idk if the newer titles are really That much better). If she did more video editing I might agree though. I definitely would for my work. And price wise there could be a breakpoint of course, dunno how it is in Japan
@Birdy8903 жыл бұрын
@夢 This was true in the first Ryzen Generations which gave a very big and nasty surprise to intel who then had to respond with NOTHING for a solid 1-2 years. But they're about on par now and AMD is starting to loosen its grip on the multi-threaded market. Man were those Ryzen releases a hoot though, loved to see AMD finally clawing its way back into contention. There's also evidence to suggest that the GPUs AMD produces out-perform Nvidia basically across the board but are limited by APIs. This explains why under Vulkan AMD kicks the pants off Nvidia but struggles behind them under DirectX (the vast majority of games are programmed for DirectX so Nvidia in reality is almost always faster than AMD.)

It is worth noting that different countries have different regulations which can lead to the specifics of what is covered under a given title being different. For example, the usage of Osteopath: To my understanding this is that, in the USA, while there used to be a difference, such a person is essentially a doctor, as the differences in qualification requirements have been eliminated over time. (of course, the USA also apparently doesn't have 'general practitioners', which is what people where I live mean when they say 'a doctor' with no further clarification, so who knows what's actually meant there...) Where as in New Zealand, where I live, this is someone who is licensed to perform a very specific manipulation of the neck (which, done right, can provide significant benefit to individuals with a very limited number of very specific problems, not that it always works, but if you stuff it up can Kill the patient... hence the need for training and licensing before you're allowed to do it, not trying it unless nothing else works, and even those who are so licensed preferring not to if other options exist) and is trained to be able to detect minor (or major) issues with the muscles and joints in your back and things directly there-to largely by touch. Beyond that, they tend to specialize and train in other fields. Some it's little more than unusually well targeted massage, others are basically full on physiotherapists, some employ supplementary acupuncture (another one where some people insist it does nothing, others that it's a miracle cure-all. Reality is that it's of some use for specific things, but outcomes can be erratic because it's highly dependent on factors that vary from individual to individual) , and various other techniques and equipment that allow them to get one's body to behave itself again without further damaging anything. They put a lot of emphasis on minor manipulations, that basically just get things out of each others' way (for want of a better term), make them relax, unpinch things, stuff like that, and when they do resort to larger manipulations it's basically identical to those used by Physiotherapists. (Also, they usually only see a given client for a given issue a small number of times, too. one or two, for most things. I had to go back a lot because I have an ongoing problem that regularly screws everything up again, not because the treatment (that specifically was never intended to deal with the underlying problem) didn't work.) Rather different things, with the same name. I'm lead to believe that many/most/all Chiropracters in Britain are complete scam artists on the level of homeopaths, whatever American Chiropractors do is, if less of a scam, also rather suspect in terms of benefits and risks... but what I've heard of Japanese chiropractors sounds to be different again. Even leaving that aside, all that is needed in order for 'Chiropractic Doctor' to be perfectly valid (well, plus or minus grammar changing things around a bit) is an appropriately accredited educational institution that issues doctorates in chiropractory.

Lioness Tech Tips strikes again. Botan should make that an actual segment on stream.

I think she meant she was an actual guardian of the galaxy, not just someone who played the game.

I am jealous that she can literally just walk into a store and buy a 3080ti. Trying to find a 3000 series card is pretty much impossible here without paying like 2x-3x MRSP from scalpers.

i love how everyone trusts Botan with the Tech tips & yeah there's a new CPU coming out, but is a whole new gen so I would have still recommended to not pay the early adopter tax yet
@Birdy8903 жыл бұрын
I paid for it HARD when Ryzen came out. They fixed it with later BIOS updates but I'd get fairly regular blue-screens which ended up killing my SSD. Really sad and I'd hate to see that happen to a streamer since for them it's more than just some fun, it's their livelihood.
@odealianaffairs90013 жыл бұрын
@@Birdy890 was it the 2nd gen ryzens?
@Birdy8903 жыл бұрын
@@odealianaffairs9001 No. Ryzen is stable now, but they were having issues with slow-medium speed RAM which is exactly what I had.
@Birdy8903 жыл бұрын
@Raul No, it was the CPU, RAM and Mobo all being brand new and unstable. The bluescreens continued when I reinstalled on my HDD but due to the nature of the HDD vs the SSD, when the HDD gets a bluescreen it simply "turns off" and doesn't damage much of the data/hardware, but when an SSD "turns off" it can "place" data in very very wrong spots which will ultimately do what it did to mine: kill it. Couldn't even reformat the thing, it was just dead after that.

I assume that 50 she was talking about is the equivalent to $5000usd. yes a high cost but if its for work (a tool) to improve your performance and make more money its well worth the investment. No different then a $2500 hydraulic punch or a $3000 core drill to me.
@Buugipopuu3 жыл бұрын
She probably got to write off 40% of that as a business expense as well, so to her it was probably a $3k purchase.
@faithnfire47693 жыл бұрын
Yeah, we all act like computer purchases are something crazy, but when compared to a conventional workplace it's fairly cheap (at least for streamers and such). Imagine if you could get 90% of your equipment for one easy payment of 3-5k, lasts 3 years no major maintenance? With resale value? Business wise that's not bad at all.
@Gunstar19863 жыл бұрын
@@faithnfire4769 Indeed. Most of the girls are rocking 3080tis and 3090s so I would imagine a GPU upgrade shouldnt be needed for QUITE a few years to come.

Now that I think about it, Subaru is cuter with this kind of voice. I'm under the assumption that her voice is just the voice she does for hololive otherwise she'd be recognized everywhere due to how unique her voice is. Or like the voice is a part of the character.
