This was someone else's car that was not using the car for any sort of real offroad use. He was looking mostly for aesthetic change and driving on gravel roads on his farm. But yes, I would suggest the beefier RLCA's, which I plan on installing on mine in the near future.

@@PatrickKasilag no it just gets beats hard on 100 miles of rough gravel roads daily going to work and back. I'm just interested in getting something better than the stock set-up I really want the gr-40s but don't really need them and haven't convinced myself $3,300 is really worth spending on something just because it would be cool. So the gr lite seems like it is a decent middle ground but I haven't looked if other companies yet. Any suggestions for a good strut setup for 1.5 to 2 inch lift ?

I just order my lift wheels & tires, went with method 502’s, forgot to order lug nuts made for the new wheels. Going to do that not but wanted to confirm what I’ve been told about the TPM Sensor, I want to transfer the current sensor as you did but do I need a new top valve stem?
@PatrickKasilag2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can transfer the tpms sensors from your current wheels onto the new wheels so you don’t have to do any reprogramming. I would highly suggest the shop uses a new set of tpms-specific valvestems for the new wheels. The sensors just screw onto the bottom side of the stem. The stems can be purchased at any Subaru dealership or even a local parts store such as Napa or Olympus, though I would state to them that you have a Subaru Crosstrek so they don’t just give u a random set of stems.
@dylanjordan81392 жыл бұрын
@@PatrickKasilag thank you greatly for the feedback, from what I’m seeing Scharders Valve stem is compatible with the sensor that’s on the subarus now. Sound about right? However I am a bit unsure if I should go with an aluminum stem or rubber.

Hey Patrick, I am thinking of lifting my 2018 Crosstrek Premium with the Ready Lift kit and I am debating on the size of the A/T tires I want to put on. I want to have maximum lift but also do not want any rubbing. I think most people said that the 235x75xR15 will rub and require some trimming, but not the 215x75xR15. What about your 225x75xR15, did it rub at all? Secondly, can you use the spare tire if needed when you are using the 225x75xR15? Thanks.
@PatrickKasilag2 жыл бұрын
The 225/75r15 did not run with this set up, but also keep in mind the wheel offset specs. My 235/75r15 on my fiancés Crosstrek does rub under braking while turning. I do not suggest using the factory spare if you are planning on running oversized tires, it could cause damage to the AWD system.
@edkho8442 жыл бұрын
@@PatrickKasilag Thanks for your reply Patrick. Sorry I am new at this so I am not sure if I understand what you mean with "The 225/75r15 did not run with this set up, but also keep in mind the wheel offset specs." Do you feel like it’s lifted 2.5 inches? Thinking about switching from iron man 4x4 to flat out suspension for my wilderness forester. Could You do 3 inches like they say you can ? Very interested!!
@PatrickKasilag2 жыл бұрын
Yes, but nothing is more concrete than actually doing before/after measurements at the lift points of the vehicle to the ground. There are plenty of room on the set of threads on the coilover bodies so I have no doubt you can go 3" lift. But make sure you get their option for the rear subframe drop if you do so!

I have heard lift kits put stress on the car, sway arms and such. What's your opinion? I bought Nitto Terra Grabbers for my stock rims. Looks beefy.
@PatrickKasilag2 жыл бұрын
On this specific Crosstrek with the rear subframe drop kit, not as much stress as mine that does not have the subframe drop kit. It helps keep the original geometry so there's not as much undesired pre-load on the factory arms and stabilizer bar when lifted above factory height.

This specific lift kit is a fully-adjustable coilover design, more advanced but more complicated compared to some other simpler lift kits (strut mount spacer design.) This kit also requires dropping the rear subframe for the spacer kit.. I would say if this would be your first suspension install, I would suggest have a performance shop do it. Though I would contact Flatout suspension to see if they are able to send you a PDF of the installation so you can review it and determine if it's something you have the tools for and feel comfortable taking on.

advice total cost of lifting in usd
@PatrickKasilag3 жыл бұрын
Well there are many options to lift a Crosstrek. Also we’re you planning on doing it yourself or having a shop do it. Lifting it yourself and with just strut mount spacers can cost as little as $300. Having coilovers, subframe spacers, installed and aligned by a shop can bring costs up to about $2,300 parts/labor. Really depends on what your needs are.

any front end clunking going over bumps?
@PatrickKasilag2 жыл бұрын
No noise whatsoever. If you get clunking noises after a coilover install, I recommend you have the spring pre-load setting checked, check the locking collars to make sure they are all tight, and check the fasteners on the swaybar end-links.

@@PatrickKasilag Hehe i knew it, your surname gave it away 😀 I am from the part of the Philippines where roads are kinda bumpy (rizal) and i am wondering will this set of suspensions make a great difference in the ride? I have a 2018 crosstrek and i am worried that the stock suspensions will break sooner or later due to the nature of the road i always drive around at. Do i have to do plastic trimming if i have a 235/65/17 tires? Thanks so much!!!
@PatrickKasilag3 жыл бұрын
I have not been to Rizal so I can't say for sure if the stock suspension with the Readylift SST lift plates would last a while, but it doesn't hurt to invest a small amount ($280ish) and run that kit for a while. THEN if the suspension starts to wear out a year or so later, then you can upgrade to the coilover kit and subframe spacers ($1,800.) Also I'm not sure if FLATOUT will ship to the PH. You may have to ship it to a relative here that'll get it there in a Balik-Bayan box lol. As far as the 235/65R17.. That has an overall diameter for 29.1" so it is definitely pushing it and you will most likely have to trim a small amount of plastic on the edges of the front wheel wells. Also it depends on the offset of the wheels. I only have experience with 7-8ish" wide wheels with a +15 offset. Rubbing contact points may be different with a 17x8" +35 wheel for example.
