For anyone looking at 24 brz mt. I had some trouble finding out this information before i purchased. The brz appears to have eyesight gen 2 so it only has some of the features mentioned. No lane centering or steering assist at all. No nanny telling you eyes on the road. No leds in the dash. No rear braking. Basically just adaptive cruise, pre collision braking, front vehicle move alert, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. Disabling also seems to be much easier in the brz than in wrx. You can do it through the dash menu or radio or just by fully disabling tc (which can be done with 2 physical button presses at any speed). Personally dont find it too intrusive and would rather it yell at me than i accidentally crash the car. Definitely some issues here and there with sharp turns or poorly marked roads but i would say its does more good than harm. In the end to each their own, some people may find it way more annoying. I've figured out how to live with it so I don't hate it. Its a daily so that adaptive cruise hit different 😩

Also a 24 BRZ manual here - personally love the eyesight. Definitely had some instances where I've looked down at the radio or over at a passenger and had the car warn me when someone in front stopped short. Super easy to turn off by fully disabling tc and you can do that at any speed so it's basically 2 button presses. It also lets you change these options in the dash but PCB can only be changed when the car is stationary. It feels like a good balance as it provides enough of the nanny's that genuinely help while letting you turn it off easily

I had a 2015 Impreza with EyeSight(TM). I loved it so much, especially the adaptive cruise control, but I couldn't stand the CVT, so I got rid of it. I wanted to buy a manual transmission Subaru with EyeSight for years, but eventually gave up, because stupid Subaru. By the time Subaru added manual transmission support, manual transmission trims were all gone from cars I'd have wanted to buy, like Forester, Crosstrek, and Impreza. So I now have a '19 Fit EX MT6 and a '24 Civic Sport MT6, both with Honda-Sensing. Even the latest Honda-Sensing is horrible compared to now almost a decade old EyeSight. I considered '24 WRX Base, but Honda's K20C2 (no turbo, no direct injection) won me over. Lastly, I don't believe the adaptive cruise control "distance" setting is based on fixed "distance." It is based on time-to-leading-car. So the distance will vary based on speed. At 30mph, the distance will be relatively close, but at 60mph, the distance will be 2x, even at the same setting.

I have the 2024 Limited with manual transmission, the pre collision braking is a nightmare on my daily commute. There are some 2 lane roads with moderate turns and it panic brakes for oncoming traffic in the other lane occasionally (about once a month). I've also had it panic brake when approaching a right hand turner who is clearly going to be gone seconds before I reach him. Even had one case where it panic braked for a speed limit sign in a downtown area. I wish it was a warning only system. It also throws a tantrum every time I park in my garage but that's at least not a safety issue, just annoying. For me, the emergency braking is more of a hazard than a help. Nearly gotten into 2 wrecks because of it. Thankfully the very confused person behind me was actually paying attention in both cases. Beyond that it seems to work ok. Cruise control is a little too aggressive on trying to maintain an exact following distance but it does seem to work.

@@carswithseppthe way it works now is that you get a discount if you allow access, at least for USAA. The option is there to save upwards of 20%. Eyesight actually helped me in a catastrophic accident last year where someone cut in front of me and brake checked me into a collision before driving away from the accident. I've never been at fault, but this could have been an incident where I could have been found responsible. It's not the eyesight thing that concerns me so much as it combined with telematic surveillance, cabin audio surveillance from starlink, and data from any connected devices to the onboard AP. Very minority report possibilities, or increased exposure to targeted advertisements, and access for hostile actors to not only the information but control of the vehicle.
