Subaru EZ30R runs at high oil pressure, your best bet to reduce the oil going into the turbo, and blow by, is get a Oil Pressure Regulator and set it at 44.5-45PSI for the turbo oil feed lines if you haven't already. Common practice for us Aussies with Turbo EZ30s xD

Definitely on the list, thank you.

IMHO the coolest part is that didn’t sound like a Subaru engine, it sounds like an angry Cayman. Also IMHO, you should change the oil a few times more than just the regular break in changes, and be sure no remaining bits of paper towel are in the oil. That would suck if paper towel clogged oil galleries and starved parts of vital oil.
@rennch.6 ай бұрын
Oh for sure on the oil.

Looks and sounds sick mate. Congrats on the progress and sharing your build with us! Did one of the turbos suck one in? i was waiting for something to appear from out of shot, and get sucked in. I was one of the first to do a registered wrx beetle after only doing big aircooled motors. I fully understand how much thought, engineering and time is spent as you progress from one idea or solution to a better one, then finding your self back at the first design, as it was the optimal one from the beginning. Next thing for me, was reverse engineering the design, so you can access all bolts and serviceable parts. You shouldn't have to pull half the car apart to change the plugs, or get to a hose clamp that you put on the wrong way for future access.

Blue painters tape, thats what I use for leaving myself notes and putting on things that need attention. Before starting or driving something for the first time I check for any tape and what part its on. Wait a minute...did Jeff send you a pair of pants? Those look really familiar!
