Thank you for your effort with filming and editing, I always watch a few of these videos before I attempt to do anything. Of the videos I have watched your video has the perfect balance of information to time invested. Straightforward, clear camera work and relaxed concise narration. It's one thing to watch a video but lets see if I can put this knowledge into practice now : )

Thanks man! That's super nice :) I'm sure you'll be fine, for my first subaru clutch it wasn't too bad

Hi, awesome video, have to say "thanks mate", bought a forester a year ago, 312000kms 9n the clock. Engine still has a few horses but thrust bearing started making a noise a few months ago. Been dreading the job. Today it finally gave in. Your video has all the details one needs. Heard so many horrible stories about these gearboxes. Hope mine doesn't look as fragged as your one lol. Thanks I'll let you know how it goes.

Hi, got the box off and on no problem but was quite the effort. My problem was there are no spares for the vehicle, 130 phone calls, countless WhatsApps and 2 days, eventually found a clutch kit. But it's happy days again, thanks El Heffe

hahahaha that clutch hahaha pure gold!! about the worst ive encountered was a twin plate clutch where a bolt holding on the pressure plate broke and the bolt and spacer made a fairly impressive mess

It sure was a good one ahah Ooo that sounds expensive

It is easier to pull the engine to do a clutch replacement. The engine can be out in about an hour and leaves plenty of room to do any necessary work - no need to disassemble a bunch of suspension and axles. My total time for clutch replacement in my 2010 Outback was 3 and a half hours from running with bad clutch to running with new clutch. YMMV.

Yeah righteo thats pretty interesting, most people i spoke to said to pull the motor ahaha but a mate works for subaru and said it was doable in the car so i had to give it a go

Hi mate, i cant get the gearbox to seperate from the engine, any ideas and help would be appreciated. Ive tried heating the dowel pins with a blow torch but no luck...
@elheffeschopshop6 ай бұрын
I would tripple check the bolts are all out, sounds like the input shaft is stuck in the clutch you may have to get creative with some straps to pull it off of the back of the motor
@Lifesabeach986 ай бұрын
@elheffeschopshop absolute legend. Rigged up a couple ratchet straps from the rear of the gearbox to a secure part near the rear axle and done them up as tight as possible. And then I used my jack to jack up and down a few times on the gearbox while ratcheting up the straps more when possible. She finally popped off! Haha thanks mate.
