Love your channel guys..... no BS, just good solid information on vehicles which is very much appreciated. I bought a 2008 Subaru Forester, brand new in the Fall of '07. It has been a delight to drive and is still very functional and reliable. I just turned 155,000 miles, put a new water pump and timing belt on it and am looking forward to putting well over 200,000 miles on it. I really do like the '22 Forester, Base Model too. It's very functional, sporty, pleasing to the eye and for a new practical vehicle, can't beat that starting price of just over $25,000. I'd love to pick one up but starting a new round of monthly car payments just isn't where I want to go right now with the economy in such shambles. Maybe once the economy improves I'll reconsider. I drive all the time in STANDARD, as I want good mileage, don't need my Rogue to be a damn sports car and hold revs. Will be taking this into the dealership about the whirring noise, anyone else have the 22 model with the new engine with any wierd whinning noise from the engine bay (been told may be the CVT chain belt or the Alternator Clutch overrunning making the whirring noise I hear) ?

It's not a nice sound and I can drive the car very conservatively, so as to really never hear it. I tested a 22 Chevy Equinox 1.5 turbo before my Rogue purchase and I thought it was not only smoother when "kicked" but quiet too. (the rest of the car just wasn't up to par with the Rogue at all). Since your reviews on the Nissan Rouge have come out, I am now seriously considering it as one of my top choices. I agree completely with Andrea about the horsepower and torque and the design is totally acceptable. In passing situations and entrance onto the expressway from off-ramps the power and torque are necessary. Unless Subaru comes out with a more powerful engine, like a turbo, a hybrid, or a plug-in hybrid, I'm afraid it will fall off my list of choices.

God forbid you buy the Rogue basing on this review (or anything else basing on the reviews from these guys). The Rogue safety rating is only 4* - that is very unusual, rare case. The Forester CVT is far more advanced than what Nissan has. The Forester is a roomier, more comfortable car. The driver position is more convenient. The visibility is better. The Forester is a far better off-roader. And finally - it has enough power and torque for safe driving. If the Wilderness trim within your budget - go for it. Another trim to look at is "Sport" (not Limited, not Touring). Just forget about Nissan.

I'm for the Forester since I own a 2016 Forester XT. The new Rogue is very nice. A big concern is how reliable the smaller engine would be on 3 cylinders. Trying to cram all that HP into a smaller engine to move a big car or suv, I question how long it would last before they break down.
@eagle.s1k2 жыл бұрын
Lol 200hp is nothing, toyota is coming out with a 300hp in a 1.6 3cylinder later this year
@redwhite_0402 жыл бұрын
So the 3 cylinders have arrived in North America as well. We have them a couple of years in Europe now, but nothing rides better than a 4 cylinder. Not speaking about durability on the long term.
@eagle.s1k2 жыл бұрын
@@redwhite_040 yep same here, id rather have the 4 cylinder. But in terms of engine reliability i do not think its gonna be that much different from the 4 cylinders, especially with todays technology

These opinions are very much stuck in a 80-90's mindset. Nissan has been putting turbos on cars and making them reliable for decades. I had a turbo 240z that had 200+ thousand miles and didn't burn a drop of oil. Most car manufacturers have figured things out for decades now. Not only that, Nissan has been developing this engine and the tech for it since pre-2014, when they put it's grandfather into a Le Mans Hybrid racecar. That 3cyl 1.5l turbo made 400hp and 285lb-ft. Smaller engines and reliability are not mutually exclusive.

J'ai acheté , bought, un ROGUE 2021, for me this the Best because l do a lot of high ways, confort and fuel efficiency , great for long trips . Off road and engine performance , may be better Subaru

I have an Ascent Limited. I had wanted the touring because I did want the ventilated seats. I have found the seats breath so they aren’t hot and you don’t stick. This was in over 100 degrees in Texas. I don’t feel like I’m lacking anything. Just wish I had that front camera. Im sure the Forester is the same.
@sez24292 жыл бұрын
I’ve done the small capacity turbo 4 a couple of times, and it is not for me or for anyone that wants to hold onto their car for many years without spending a lot of $ on maintenance and repairs. I can’t imagine what that means for the life expectancy of a 3 cylinder turbo - not for me. Too much stress on a small engine is not a good formula unless you intend to lease for 3-4 years. I’ll take the non-turbo 2.5L Subaru.

@ofcbob63914 ай бұрын
Outlander has a normally aspirated 2.5 4 banger, very different from this new 1.5T with variable compression setup. And that engine for the Outlander is very underpowered...unless it's just a driver in it. You put a wife and 2 kids and a big dog in there, and it struggles up any incline. The Outlander would really benefit from the VC Turbo from the Rogue.
