Nice Impreza! I have a 2013 as a daily that I will be doing a few mods on soon To answer your adjustable endlink question.. From what I understand, the stock endlink length is specific to stock ride height. As you lower your car, adjustable endlinks allows your swaybar to sit at the correct level.. as swaybars are designed to twist, it’s common for them to sit as close to level as possible (ie, chassis mounting point level to endlink mounting point) Keep it up, I’m subbed
@JasonLeung-4roller3 жыл бұрын
I see a lot of "Car people" upgrade their endlinks on stock suspensions, and sways. To what purpose other than to say they've upgraded a part that otherwise doesn't need upgrading.. thus my question. I would understand if thier was a significant drop, using adj. endlinks.. or if their sway bars were super heavy and needed the support over stock links. Other wise, yeah I didn't think so. Thanks! I enjoy this car quite a bit. I hope you do too!

I forget to mention they allow you to adjust swaybar preload as well for corner balancing.. not really necessary for a street car, but what mods are? Am I right 🤷🏻♂️😅

@JasonLeung-4roller3 жыл бұрын
It's called "body side molding" a Subaru option that you can get/purchase and install yourself it's quite easy, as it's a simple adhesive. It comes with a template so you can make it straight to your door. Took about 30minutes self install. The cost however is high for what it is. That being said it helps break up the monotonous side of the impreza. 😀

@JasonLeung-4roller3 жыл бұрын
The intake pipe is for a legacy /outback 2.5 from 2013 I believe. I had to do some air box cutting to make it fit. The idea is called a hybrid intake. You keep OEM panel filter capabilities but gain in the intake flow through the aftermarket piping.

Did you install the steering dampener lockdown yourself? I have an issue with my 18 Impreza the steering is so light that it feels like the car is swaying when I’m going fast speed. I went to the dealer because I’m new to Subaru and thought something was wrong. I’m trying to figure out what I can do to make the steering and handling better than the stock.

Great video, could your elaborate more on the results on the suspension set up? Are you getting better turn in or less understeer for example? Compared to stock how does the body roll and weight transfer compare to your current set up? I really like the mods and how the car looks.
@JasonLeung-4roller3 жыл бұрын
The sway bars front and rear are pretty well balanced for less understeer compared to stock. Body roll is controlled. The coilovers really changed the drive. The car reacts much quicker than the stock suspension due to the dampening and stuffer springs. I'd you have stock suspension just a rear 22mm will be a drastic yet good change.
@speedmaster16753 жыл бұрын
How much power and torque gain on that set up?
@JasonLeung-4roller3 жыл бұрын
With a light tune, intake, power blocks and driveline upgrades, I'd say a conservative 5% Maybe 125whp 140+WTQ using torque pro app (not a real dyno)

@@mmaannnyy yes most. Different stores will show up with prices and shipping, I usually have the part number after doing research. This site you can find all the impreza accessories www.cars101.com/subaru/impreza/impreza2016.html (check earlier years 2012). Ebay for certain things, Subaru parts stores (many online) for OEM parts. Then tuner/aftermarket stores for aftermarket parts. Facebook marketplace is also good for finding stuff too. Good luck!

Where did you get your intake pipe?
@JasonLeung-4roller3 жыл бұрын
This intake pipe is from Takeda. It comes from the 2.5 legacy 2010. I bought an entire kit with a cone filter and air box assembly. However I found through testing that the cone filter doesn't pull as much air as the aftermarket panel filter. I retrofitted the intake kit pipe to the stock airbox. You may be able to purchase the pipe and silicone hose bits a la carte via Takeda directly. Kit number TR-4303P for reference. If you can find the parts list then your gold.
@Nightowl822 жыл бұрын
@@JasonLeung-4roller what kind of testing did you do To be able to tell the difference? Was there a noticeable sound change between the two also?
@JasonLeung-4roller2 жыл бұрын
@@Nightowl82 I have recorded MAF, mass air flow, rate using a OBDii Bluetooth reader and Torque Pro android app. I can read how grammes per second the intake is pulling in. I went from 106g/s to 108 (witj a filter) to 112.9 g/s (filter and intake pipe and breathers) . Each 1g/s is about 1.25 BHP that's about 8 (engine HP) gain potentially under perfect conditions. But take that with a grain of salt. Heat, humidity, gas quality, moisture, altitude and other factors can reduce that significantly. As for sound. I went from the OEM setup to this intake pipe. At full engine load you can hear the engine more. The OEM intake is made from silicone coupled with a baffle and accordion all which absorb sound. Replacing the pipe with a thin stainless metal pipe increased the noise.

Looks wise they are fantastic. I would agree. To me they just look like a flashier limited wheel. However, the construction and weight of these STI enkeis provide good strength vs weight compared to anything stock or aftermarket. I do want to go wider and with less offset , but for now they are a good performance compromise since I got them for such a good price. It's OEM+ so can't complain.
