Install: 2" front/2.5" back Anderson Design Lift kit. this lift kit is amazing and super easy to install. this subaru is equipped with the durable 2.5L 4cylinder engine and I am able to ru. the larger tires with some fender trimming without any issues.

Nice job adjusting the inside of the front spacer. Thats the reality of making upgrades. Most of the time it does not go as planned.

I have a 2006 Outback that I bought new. I think its time for some suspension upgrades.

I love Subaru. I want Subaru :) By the way, it is a useful improvement of the suspension, because without it the bumper does not allow you to go where you want. Question for Subaru owners: which is better for everyday life - Impreza or Outback?

I’ve got a 2003 Subaru Legacy Outback Sedan H6 3.0 Automatic AWD in black and gold. It needs new shocks at least and prolly new brakes and rotors. If you had a sedan for street driving would you swap NAPA stock parts or do something else? I have an 87 Sammy for my off roading so this is the around town car. I thought a little height in back t give it a little stance would be hot. Ideas?

If it was my around town car I would get what is a good price and roll with it. Mine handles great on and off road with the KYB brand from rock auto.

I’m sure someone else has commented this but you might’ve got a legacy strut instead of a outback strut but I’m not sure I have an outback as well.

That could be. I did order them from rockauto.com. it's not the first time to get the wrong part.

I'm curious what was rubbing in the back. Seems like the lift would give you more tire clearance and not less!

The rubbing was from the exhaust heat shield hitting the rear driveline.

The tires are a 235x70r16 Bridgestone blizzak

I am going for the clearance and also the wide tires help in the sand.

They are a blizzak tire they were a cheap tire off market place to see how the car worked with the size. I may go down a size in height, eventually, but they are working great after the trimming. I plan on making bumpers that will help with the clearance.

I was thinking about one of these-- or a CROSSTREK--- and since they ARE easy to modify-- etc. HOW do they hold up afterward? I've had mechanics say NOT to modify them because it changes the basic engineering and they won't hold up. Especially with the stupid CVTs- which I hate-(have been told by many mechanics that they are a nightmare waiting to happen).. and overall Subarus FEEL-- CHEAP ( I know they are NOT- because I sold them for a while many years back-but havn'et kept up with how they last). ARE THEY WORTH IT? If one fixes one up- will they LAST? What about that FAKE tranny? (what I call the CVT- and I know some say they are good- and maybe SOME are- but overall- they're JUNK)..

I really like the older subaru. I know they have headgasket issues, but mine runs great and now that I have the suspension tuned correctly it drives great. My parents have had a crosstrek for many years without any issues.
