I have just finished mine in Taiwan and stuff a whole bunch of JDM subaru genuine parts and mods on my year 2000 2.0 GT. I will continue to do more JDM engine conversion as well

Nice ride mate. I have a 1999 version v type r limited with a few modern mods and love it. Personally I feel 17” wheels are the perfect size and 18” look to big for this chassis. Keen to see your progress on this sweet Suby.

Hey Chris- nice one 👍🏼 I think the 17 is ok but I much prefer the 18. I’ll have Ian date vid soon as I now have them on the car. Perhaps I’m too old for the smaller look that seems to be the theme now days!! Appreciate the comment, lmk what you think of the new wheels when I post it…hopefully I’ll change your mind!! Cheers

My dream subaru right there. Planning on keeping the centre dash pod with the gauge?
@wrxcult82662 жыл бұрын
Hey, the centre dash lid is broken but the gauge is good. I’ll replace the lid when I replace the dash….

Do you know if you can buy from Subaru Australia a new replacement genuine Momo 4 spoke steering wheel with the same red stitching and airbag that came factory standard on the MY00 Subaru WRX ?. My one is starting to wear out.
@wrxcult82662 жыл бұрын
Hey Julian- good question. The short answer is, No. You’ll need to hunt down the ebay and FB pages for second hand parts. I managed to source a very good used wheel from a friend in the Subie community. A very good second hand version will cost you $800+ and if you ever find an unused version, maybe $1500+. You can also have your existing wheel refurbished for a few hundred. Good luck with the search

@@wrxcult8266 Thanks for your informative reply. I had my pristine MY00 GC8 WRX stored in a secure underground car park for the last 6 months parked in a corner car spot, and unfortunately an external down pipe on the wall next to my car had leaked with constant dripping for weeks. This unfortunately produced a lot of mould spors in the air, and to my shock horror my interior seats, seat belts, interior door trims, steering wheel and hand brake was all covered in white mildew! I had all my windows closed so I'm surprised how the mould spors got inside my car. Silly me I decided to use 3M Scotch magic tape which I had at the time to dab off and remove the mildew off the Momo leather steering wheel. This unfortunately also appeared to remove the shine off the outer edge of the steering wheel which now makes it look very worn. I'll have to investigate if there is some polish or cleaner suitable for use on leather steering wheels in order to restore the shine.
