Happens to me a lot. When I'm around people I know, I am completely shy, to show my true self. But on parties with just my friends, who I know would not judge me, I am a different person. Sometimes I just see myself changing, like from a third person perspective. It's like a switch inside me.

"Person" originated from the word 'persona' which in Latin means mask. So in some countries once turning a certain age you denounce your title and go to the woods for like a month and find out who you really are...because we are only what others tell us, and words separate things, so if you can see what the world looks like without labeling with words then that is true enlightenment. These "actors" figured out the God-drama. Really, they are all you and without your perception they wouldn't exist.. like do you breathe or does it breathe you? So everything outside of your physical self is technically you, and your physical self just a way of experiencing ones self. So rather than thinking a person is the same person because that is who they are look at it rather another way the universe is trying to express itself to you or itself persay..theory of relativity is we are the environment we are in, so, really it's all you. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk...

The argument could be made that your actions and decisions throughout your life determined which posessions that you currently have. I can play the blame game all day, but when it comes times to face reality, it was ultimately my choice to be where I am today. Of course there are other factors like upbringing and genetics, but i believe that in MOST cases, it is our own free will that shapes our lives.

I wear all black at the gym, going out, in a lot of situations actually. I choose black because it is one of my favorite base colors to layer color on. Red and black is a favorite combination. My business colors are yellow and black. So I would disagree that it comes from a dark place or that no one would know why they do it. Great videos, keep em coming.

I feel like a lot of this is only accurate some of the time. People aren't always as consistent as this suggests. Also, he talks about being able to read people, when really its more about making assumptions about people. I think the part about people's eyes dilating is probably fairly accurate, but there could be a lot of reasons someone is walking or speaking a certain way given whatever they are dealing with that day, the topic they are discussing, or whatever else may be having an effect on them.

Agree w/ the other commenters that "I don't know" is sign of strength not weakness. However, expressions like "I have no idea" or "For the life of me I don't know" or "I don't have a clue", etc, add more than just that the person doesn't know. (Add what? Those other forms are usually a brush-off, conveying that they don't care, don't want to be bothered with it, and most especially "Don't ask me again!")

You’re off on the oldest, they generally are higher achievers, make more money, and are overall more successful than later children. This is because the parent’s attention isn’t divided. As a result they often are the “golden child” and they strive to uphold that position.

Why i choose to wear Black *my profession requires it * looks chic * blk belongings look sleek, cleaner, longer Oldest child * NEVER felt jealous of the younger ones, i felt a strong sense of responsibility, and relief when my sisters were born * i was bullied passive aggressively in middle school but never to my face, i felt it and thought about it buti felt i was weird for thinking that, only to find out it was true well over 10 years later. I didn't become a bully for it * im quiet when around people i dont know, but its so i can watch how someone will behave before i decide if i will give them my attention. It's not me being shy or even weak. These are not exceptions to human behaviour, its simply another facet that comes from self evolution. You can change who you were raised to be, it doesnt determine your outcome, you do. That saying goes on to say, "don't judge a book by its cover"; because the only one who looks a fool is those that think one size fits all.

saying "I don't know" is not a weakness. it shows humility, honesty, and a willingness to learn. although it does depend on the question. if someone asks you "what's your name" and your answer is "I don't know" well then you're not just weak you're stupid too. the question is the context of which the body language reaction context is based. what you're stating is very generalized as if every question ever asked has a potential "I don't know" as the answer which is obviously not the case

When she doesn't like something someone did or acted she isn't afraid to correct them with a calm clear voice. Wonder how she learnt that skill? Edit: Btw people tend to look down or up when they're recollecting or thinking about something. They'll stare straight at you when they are lying or they've learnt the story by heart. So do be careful reading the eyes, it might not always mean they aren't confident.

I find it bizarre! I think there are very shallow females in this world, especially mexicans, and i also think there are females that don't look at the exterior of a guy, that there is more to him, perhaps, more attractive on the inside. Something that may be worth getting to know. There are also game players. They sure like to play those head games!! I so wish i had the ability to 'read' women! I think the attractive guys out there get the best chance to read them, to figure them out, as they are more likely to get a woman's attention. With saying "I guess" or "I don't know"... that can be a sign of emotional intelligence or honesty, not necessarily a lack of confidence. Sometimes adding "I don't know" lightly after a strong statement allows that statement to be better received by others. Or sometimes you ACTUALLY DON'T KNOW and admitting so shows maturity and courage. This video is full of presumptuous generalisations.
@blazepyre48705 жыл бұрын
It comes down to how you say it. If you say it in a way that shows that you accept your inexperience in a subject, you will be seen as more confident. However, if you say it in a way that indicates that you aren't willing to own what you say, or are otherwise insecure of others perceptions of your statement, you will look less confident.
@blackspiderman18874 жыл бұрын
saying "I guess" from my experience usually shows lack of confident. It's not saying the person isn't confident but maybe the question he was asked makes him not confident about making that choice. For example, If my girlfriend ask me "Do you want to watch 'The Notebook' with me tomorrow"? (Assuming I never saw it) And i respond, "Sure, I guess"..........................I'm not really confident about watching that movie. I dont' think i will find it interesting but because my girlfriend likes it I will watch it for her sake. Now if she ask me "Do you want to go watch Avengers Infinity War tomorrow" (assuming I never seen it before)I will respond "Heck Yeah"..........................See the difference. The first one I wasn't confident about watching the movie while the second question I was more confident because I expect based on my past experience that I will enjoy the movie. So there is some truth to what this youtuber is saying.

11:55 Bad example: wearing all black at a gym. - Black is a known slimming illusion - Black is a neutral color that’d make it easy to wear to a place like a gym where how u look isn’t as important, also harder to appear dirty - virtually everyone grown up in modern society felt “bullied or weak” as a child at some point - it’s more so the narratives you want to create in interpreting people

Agree with this as well. I wear black to the gym because its a neutral colour and white gets dirty easily.

I love that you mention it's so important to read multiple signals and not rely on just one. There are so many generalizations when it comes to body language, with truth to them, but to get a true reading of someone, it's essential to keeping mind one's baseline behavior, the context and watch for multiple signals. Thanks for contributing to the body language conversation!

SORRY but this is stupid, sometimes being humble and kind makes people look week. you will never know a person until you really know them and even then they might surprise you

Used to frustrate me when I'd try to be nice to someone (how I was raised in my conservative Christian family)... and occasionally a person would interpret that "gesture" as "a sign of weakness." People are always trying to figure each other out, usually takes some time to master.

kris so i do my best to be mindful because life experiences made me humble, (hey that rhymes lol) but I am also confident. Many have noticed my walk and my ‘talk’. I choose certain words and understand that phrases said and how it’s said makes an impact. I remain kind even if a conversation may get aggressive, I stay mindful. The generalization that a humble and kind person is weak has it’s exceptions. It helps to truly know yourself. People cant make this judgement just as you said, “you will never really know a person.... and even then they might surprise you”

Listen, psychology is a very diverse field. You have to realize that these types of videos NEED to be taken with a GRAIN OF SALT. Psychology is a proven science, BUT it's based around theories. It takes EXTENSIVE research to truly understand when to apply each bit of knowledge on body language to another person. These can be referred to as "clusters". Body language clusters need to be looked for when assessing a person based on their microexpressions. Again, if you can't grasp theories, psychological analysis will be hard for you since psychology isn't based on concrete facts, it's based on knowing what to look for and in what condition it is taking place.

David Henningson I learned to know myself and master myself rather than try to figure somebody out. I need to be aware of what I’m doing rather than someone else.

In so many ways no. This video is so incorrect with bias, sweeping statements.

Walking style plot twist: im in a wheelchair
@Skitdora20106 жыл бұрын
Someone could read you by how you use the chair to get around if someone else isn't pushing you around. They can see if you make jerky movement, many starts and stops, or if you move smoothly and confidently. They will read you by how you sit in the chair slumped, scrunched, rigid, relaxed ect as well. A confident person in a wheelchair will sit somewhat erect but still relaxed and they will move the chair in fluid purposeful movements, making eye contact and smiling at times.

A personality can’t be weak, a personality is their traits , the real personality traits eg funny or nice cannot be ‘weak’ they just have different traits maybe not as loud but under the surface still have a good personality
@RedZero205 жыл бұрын
Good personality and weak personality are two different things. Someone could have a great but weak personality and vice versa. Also environment/situation matters, which I'm pretty sure is mentioned in video.

Elle Gibbson: excellent point. If you wouldn't mind expanding on the difference between good and weak personality, please
@MrURBETTA5 жыл бұрын
So traits can definitely be weak. By weak I mean not good for anyone. Arrogance, stubbornness, lying, depressed, mad, all traits that can go into someone's personality that do not help them in life. Remember were all human, every personality trait exists in all of us, it's just up to us to let out what we want. We have to learn to control our own personality. I know this to be possible because I used to get mad super easy, didn't like it, so I thought to myself(because it's all in your head, your mind), what can I do to stop getting so mad. Everyone has their own way, same thing can be done for any emotion. Knowledge is power, knowing how to control ones emotion makes an extremely powerful human. Not knowing can lead to being very weak, probably a good person, nice person, but not strong. Btw every heard a woman say she doesnt like nice guys because they are too weak?
@greyrock9284 жыл бұрын
Everyone has the capacity to be weak. It's not strength u Exhibit by ignoring your weaknesses and presenting them as a strength. Delusional and not self aware is the label I would call a person who thinks like that. Everyone has weakness somewhere. Nothing to be ashamed about. Know thyself and work on self improvement
