Not necessarily. I use everything i own without being gentle on it. In my opinion if product cannot withstand what is designed to do puts it on my black list of things not to buy again. I apply this rule to everything. Vehicles, electrics, watches I am not wealthy so its not like i can afford to throw that money but if i spend i expect

And if you ever did take a watch diving.. recreational diving is 10-30/50 meters max so the regular Submariner is overkill for what anyone actually “needs”.

I don't know where it started tat the.cyclops or to check the date under water. Watches had a cyclops for a very long time, plenty of which have no water resistance, it's just to see the date better wherever you are in relation to water

Where tf is the helium coming from? There's no helium in water, is it in the watch? I genuinely have no idea lol I'm actually curious.

The helium is used in a decompression tank that deep sea divers sit in and use to decompress after a deep dive. Used by people who work at deep depths like welders. The helium molecule is small enough to get into the watch so it needs to be able to "escape" thru the helium valve when resurfacing during decompression.

They are beautiful just think of them as a 7-8 grand watch. Can’t justify spending 14k for a submariner they are so overproduced. Even when I bought one from an authorized spot 10+ years ago I got a small discount and the store had everything. Maybe with the exception of daytonas they had every kind of datejust in all sizes. I understand these dudes have to make their money but its been going on too long. Just remember guys out there if you remember even just 5 years ago these stores on 47th were begging you to buy. Hold out a little longer if you want to save

I have a 007 Seamaster with the helium escape valve. I love the watch, but hate the valve, and would love a cyclops. I’m 55 and can’t see the date without my cheaters, and have had the valve open in the shower, fogging up the watch.

Sea dweller i am 1,91 mts , looks good and still have my hulk 👍 , shoul also compare the meaningles deepsea specially the first ones that moved in your wrist and more prone to scratch or hit them

The question is why are you wearing it underwater? It’s not a utility watch brand anymore it’s a prominent luxury brand that will work when submerged. If you want a clock to dive with get a dive computer

The people buying them dont. They buy them and just wear them. and those are just other ways for Rolex to sell them. For example you could buy a cool watch. Or you could buy a cool watch that can go 4,000 feet under water obviously your never gonna need that but y tf not at that point

There's something very beautiful about the Submariner with no date window. It seems superfluous as your current "in-water" time is, to me, most important. I only surf and do not dive but I'd imagine that divers who are down for days more than likely have a calendar in their submersible, que no? Additionally, being able to just randomly insert helium facts as it pertains to your watch at dinner is something interesting and cool.
