SUG uses a tailored version of EBI-rules where you are not allowed to slam out of submissions. 3.In ADCC (which is the largest and most popular ruleset in submission wrestling) slamming is completely legal if you are in a submission hold, if your opponent gets knocked out you win (as long as you don't spike the opponent on the head). It's happened many times. Hope this clears things up.
