Submotion Orchestra - interview and livesession 2012 - presented by Written In Music & Orphic Film

From the first drop of music we heard from Submotion Orchestra we fell in the love with the remarkable sounds from the Leeds based musical masters. With www.writteninmu... we have always had the pleasure in informing our Dutch speaking/reading audience about all Submotion is doing. From their tremendous debut Finest Hour (bit.ly/xtFFPl) and the small tour they did thru the Benelux right after that. By knowing a new album was on the way filmmaker Peter Sieben (Orphic Film) and Written in Music journalist Dick Hovenga went to Leeds in the summer of 2012 to talk to all members of the band on camera. The band, as beautiful as they are, also played 3 songs live in the studio. Also talking about their new album Fragments (bit.ly/TsM7cl), that was released to even greater excitement in the fall, the short documentary also gives a nice insight in the making of that album.

Incredible music, I’ve been to York Minster many times, what an incredible place to birth a band! Amazing. I love that you are so profoundly rooted in jazz ... I sometimes tire of the reverb, but it’s rare. I’m an American btw, and former member of a Celtic/Bluegrass band in Dallas, Texas. That y’all aren’t just some studio band and produce such incredible live music speaks volumes about your talents in these days of dubbed loops and auto tuners is awesome! Please tell me a live performance is scheduled for Atlanta, Ga USA someday ...
