From certain point of view, it's sometimes better than original because the monsters look bigger compared to player. The perspective of Ryley's eyes is kinda weird and it doesn't show hwo huge they are until you use game options to zoom a bit

I remember I was all set to try modding, and then Living Large happened. Going legacy shouldn't be that much of a hurdle, but sorting through old vs new mods just added enough headaches that it killed my motivation to try them out. Maybe in a couple years things will be better. Or maybe it's time to just enjoy your channel and not play myself anymore. Speaking of, I kinda hope you do a playthrough on random like that. I bet there would be some insane moments as you have to do bizarre workarounds for early game items requiring late game mats, lol.

If you are using the Nexus, you can list mods by newest first. That will give you almost exclusively Living Large-compatible mods until you get back to before the date of the update. You still have to read the descriptions to make sure, but it simplifies things a bit.

Tbh it was kinda random :) I had the name before the character - and then I had this wallpaper which was a cute cat - opened photoshop, applied bacon and the rest is history!

I think the randomized playthrough would be pretty cool to see, a lot of people would be interested in it like possibly those that play Pokemon Randomizer Nuzlockes or the Mario Kaizos (if I'm understanding the definition correctly). Who knows, this game might get its own version of those if enough people like them.

I've completed the game with the (new) randomizer a few times, and the crazy recipes are doable. Like you might need a purple tablet to make a power cell, but either purple tablets are cheap to make, or nothing needs power cells anymore. It's not just lolrandom, there's progression logic. My big tip is to set max ingredients per recipe to four or five, and max items needed per ingredient to one or two. Lockers and the build tool are randomized too, so you may not have the storage for 20-item recipes.

4:23 To obtain a seed/spore you need a survival knife but to make a survival knife you need seed/spore. As someone else already said "We need you to play the whole game like this"

Honestly the “giant eel” design choice of all the leviathans, combined with the 1st person POV just really never giving you a true sense of how utterly gigantic stuff is compared to you, is why I’ve never been a fan of Subnautica- as a player or a letsplay viewer. But this feels like it would deliver that fear factor 100x better (and kinda shoulda been an option for the base game). I just really wish the community+devs would kinda, uh, like acknowledge the one most obvious thing any normal person that enjoys underwater terror wants… giant semi-earth-like sharks. This game is like playing a Dinosaur game without T-Rexes

You know what kills me about this?! If you recall when you did the multiplayer mod however long ago, half of these animations didn't exist! Like climbing out of the Lifepod if you watched someone else do it used to just slide the model up and down but suddenly there's an entire animation for climbing the ladder here! Do you know if that's a feature added in this mod or if the animation was removed in the multiplayer mod to help it...*ahem*..."""run""" better? Also to be fair we've seen third person perspective Riley before! Freecam! The cursed part is seeing him with his head still attached! His camera-drone detachable robot head used for freecam is still firmly intact upon his shoulders! Yaaaaay for no body horror in Subnautica! XD
