What's freaky is...it's _not_ the PDA saying that. The Mesmer is generating a voice in your head that you _trust._ And since the PDA is the only voice you consistently hear throughout the game, giving you objectives and instructions, it chose to take-on that voice once it entered your mind... It's creepy to consider...does the Mesmer have this much effect on us because we are higher life-forms capable of understanding speech...or is _it_ capable of understanding speech?

I don't think that the mesmer can understand speech. Rather, it's sending a general instruction. Each animal viewing it will have a different experience. You trust the PDA voice, and so your mind creates that experience. A simpler creature might hallucinate signals from a potential mate or food source, making it want to go closer.

@@zorpglorp you can find some in the lost river entrance from the grand reef but I didn’t find any there while I was looking. But there are a heap around the... bulb zone? I think that’s what it’s called, it *was* called the koosh zone. It’s around the mushroom forest at the front middle of the Aurora. Sometimes there’s a reaper around there but don’t worry much. There are bone sharks and those electric eel things so bring a stasis rifle. You’ll know your there when you see blue bulbs with small bioluminescent balls on them. If your still having trouble try making a mini base with a biofuel thing and a random fish connected to a scanner room and search for eggs

When I played the game for the first time and encountered a Mesmer, my PDA never said anything, and now hearing it say “It’s your primary redirective to swim closer to that, beautiful, creature?” Like it’s confused, is really good for atmosphere, cause all of a sudden , the player realizes that there’s something really bad about the creature of it wants you to come closer
