If I was to have one built I would have you do it differently The bed would be half the size with the ability to open up sliding out Instead of one big long draw that opens up outside there would be smaller ones that would slide open from inside On the right side would be a countertop So you could cook inside of the suburban, while sitting on the bed also a sink so you could wash up and that would drain outside of the vehicle A small fridge either a draw style underneath the bed or a chest one

Awesome build! Wish you guys were in the Midwest! Curious though how come you guys don't use the 2nd battery spot so free up space inside the vehicle? All GMT 800s have a spot for an extra battery under the hood, you have to buy a tray sometimes but some also come with it stock.

Great video tours of your work! In your opinion idoes goal zero perform better than a jackery? Does your client dictate size of goal zero? And last, would the goal zero 240 also work well for fridge, camp lighting, phones and laptop? Thanks in advance for your feedback!

I saw your business the other day here in twin I live in twin by the way eventually after I get me another Tahoe bourbon Yukon Yukon XL I want to put a slide metal slide I should say so that I can put my grill on it and that way I don't have to take my grill in and out all the time I can open the door up and slide it out and then slide it back in what would you recommend FYI it is a pit boss Austin XL grill

I have the barn doors. Gmc didn't provide an interior latch/handle to open the rear door from inside. I feel it was a safety issue so I created my own door handle. Let me know if you're interested in DIY...

@@kriskross7606 hi Kris send me a way to contact you and I can send pictures. Otherwise, I drilled a 5/8 inch hole through trim panel and inner door then inserted a garage door roller (Axelrod part) in the hole. Push roller in voila door handle pushes open allowing exit. Hope this helps.

What sort of a finish do you put on the wood components in your builds ? Something like a matte or semi-gloss polyurethane ?

Love it! Where are you running the cord from the battery to the solar panel? I don't see any wires in the front cabin. Through an open sunroof?

It's directly through the roof. We drill holes.
@vanguardvaluist26144 жыл бұрын
@@suboverland Thanks for the response. In this new design (with higher platform) would a 6 foot tall person be able to sit fully upright on the platform without head hitting roof? If not, would the build you did for #43 (Norelle & Danny) accommodate a six foot tall person sitting upright and would #43 platform height allow the same design and interior access as this updated build does? It would be just me so I'm thinking storage space is a little less important versus the ability to sit upright.
@scotth55034 жыл бұрын
@@vanguardvaluist2614 The suburban (at least in the case of our 2011) has ~41" of height from the bare metal in the rear floor to the headliner. Take off about 1.5" for the carpet and padding. Sit on the ground and measure your height. I did this exercise last night - I'm 5'10" with a short torso and need about 36" to sit up straight. So no, a 6' person nor would most people be able to sit upright in this build.

@suboverland4 жыл бұрын
The San is the most popular and we can build out vehicles that are brought to us.

I haven't had a chance to find one to measure, but would a tall (6'4") person be able to lay in a tahoe with the front seats moved forward if needed? Kind of liking the Tahoe's overall length better.
@suboverland4 жыл бұрын
You might get about 6'4". Tahoe's are a great option for sure 👍
@Whitetrash_Customs4 жыл бұрын
I have an 02 tahoe and rigged it out similar, I'm 6'1" and I have just enough room to sleep in mine with the rear sear slid all the way rearward, so yes at 6'4" u would have room with seats forward

Grady, I sent you an email the other day, but haven't heard back. Was wondering what your thoughts were on using a Yukon XL 4x4. Not the AWD. Is it basically the same underneath the different body and trim?

The Yukon XL is almost identical to the Suburban. Drivetrain is identical but the hood and headlights are slightly different.
