He was accompanied here by my dadaguru Ustad Sharafat Hussain Khan sahib. You can hear his taans in the composition. Recorded around 1943-44.

Do you have other recordings of his? It would be great to listen to more of them.

The shift in pitch between what sounds like two recordings is unfortunate, but incredible nom tom and my lord, what a magnificent composition... baaje mori payaliya… what would the world be without it... nothing. I have heard Pt Ramrao Naik sing it and of course, my late Guruji Pt Dinkar Kaikini. Gratitude for the upload.

Lots of emotions in his music. This is reflected in Shehnai of Ustad Bismillakhansaheb. You can find traces in Pt. Kumarji as well. Thanks for sharing

According to Kudrat Rangee Birangee (can be treated as a historical witness of Indian classical music of a century) written by Kumar Prasad is Ustad Faiyaz khan did not get advantage of contemporary recording system. The very voice we listen from records of his era, does not represent the write reflection of his vocal. I support that statement, because in my country ( Great Bangladesh) there was a renowned and respectable singer named Mr. Sohrab Hossen ( used to sing Nazrul shanggeet) who got huge upper hand of micro phonic effect. This is my personal experience. Even the early recording system we enjoy a lot of Ustad Faiyaz khan sahab. So in reality what was Ustadji?
