At last some daylight on Substack. Many thanks. I liked the big black hand instead of a fast-moving, barely detectable cursor, such an improvement on almost all other 'how to' videos. And you actually show us what it looks like. I love this minimalist, simple approach. I don't know about other users, but I just don't want all the bells and whistles on most systems. I just want to be able to post simple information with a few pictures.

Thank you, Mike. I really appreciated how carefully you went through all this and found myself implementing your tips as I watched. (I hit pause a lot.) As someone else noted here, the greater challenge is in approaching would-be subscribers in the first place. I inadvertently subscribed 40 people, thinking I was merely inviting them to take a look and subscribe. So far, for me, anyway, Substack hasn't been as simple as it positions itself to be, at least as far as inviting potential subscribers in the first place, which is where one needs to start.

I have heard of Substack in the past but had no clue what it was, the reason being I am almost completely technologically deficient to say the least. I ran across a KZbin video of the pod cast "fractal radio" hosted by Justin Kan where he interviewed Substack founder Chris Best. That video hooked me. Off to the side I saw several other videos and yours (this video) among them so I clicked on it. I have watched thousands of videos and I have no clue how many tutorials in the past but I honestly say this is ABSOLUTELY the very best tutorial on any subject I have ever seen. After watching these 2 videos I am now in the process of starting my own substack newsletter business and will be sure to mention you as much as I can in them for referrals. I can't thank you enough for this information.

Hi Tuluba :) Right now, Substack's podcasting feature is in its early stages, but it is a fully functional podcast host. So if you plan to use it for your blog, then you could definitely use it as your podcast host as well. Mike :)

Does your substack content ranks good in google and brings organic free traffis or only traffic within the substack circle? Which content type converts best here article or audio podcasts? When you write long content any other day how much paid subscribers each long article will get? 5, 3 or 10's ? How make your substack article or podcast seen to the audience ? Are substack readers open minded and clicking on external affiliate links or external link to your website? (get traffic) ?

For instance, I write about St. Nicholas & Christmas (Yes, I really do!) but I also write about olive oil; two very different categories and readers.
