Great question! Actually both ways are correct because they are both the same thing. The difference is, on my video I showed you how the math is working by showing you how to write equivalent fractions. In the tecmath video, he is doing the exact same thing, but doing it using mental math. This mental math method is also called the bowtie method. You can see that both methods are really the same if you take a problem and complete it using each method, you will see how they are the same. I hope this helped. I didn't mean to ramble on, I just wasn't sure how to explain it any other way.
