Subway Style Chicken Sandwich At Home By Delicious Storm
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Sandwich:
1 foot-long sandwich roll (or two 6-inch rolls)
4 tbp double cream
Lettuce leaves
Tomato slices
Cucumber slices
Red onion slices
Pickles
Bell pepper slices
Black olives (optional)
Jalapeños (optional)
Sauces and Condiments:
Mayonnaise
Mustard
Ranch dressing
Sweet onion sauce (optional)
Any other preferred sauces (Chipotle Southwest, Honey Mustard, etc.)
Instructions:
Preparing the Chicken:
Marinate the Chicken:
In a bowl, mix the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Coat the chicken breasts with the spice mixture and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes. For better flavor, marinate for a few hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
Cook the Chicken:
Preheat a grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat.
Cook the chicken breasts for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C).
Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then slice it thinly.
Assembling the Sandwich:
Prepare the Roll:
Slice the sandwich roll lengthwise.
If desired, lightly toast the roll in a toaster oven or on a grill for a crispier texture.
Add the Cheese:
Place the slices of cheese on the bottom half of the roll.
Add the sliced chicken on top of the cheese.
Add Vegetables:
Layer the lettuce, tomato slices, cucumber slices, red onion slices, pickles, bell pepper slices, black olives, and jalapeños (if using) on top of the chicken.
Add Sauces and Condiments:
Spread your preferred sauces and condiments on the top half of the roll.
Assemble the Sandwich:
Close the sandwich by placing the top half of the roll over the layered ingredients.
Serve:
Cut the sandwich in half if desired and serve immediately.
Tips:
Customize your sandwich by adding or omitting ingredients based on your preferences.
Experiment with different types of bread, like whole wheat, Italian, or multigrain.
For a healthier option, use grilled chicken without added oil or sauces.
