Got into the audio game about 3 years ago with my first sub. done a few changes since then, but with all the variations my mother has gotten into it too. Planning to install 2 12s in her rogue sometime soon, so seeing a rogue in this vid makes me happy.
@MasterDJRenn Жыл бұрын
The Rogue has some serious cabin gain. You’ll need and upgraded alternator and I paid like almost $800 to have one special made because no one make a h/o alternator for the Rogue. Now I have that alternator sitting in the closet collecting dust.

Appreciate this video I went from 4 12' facing backwards four 12 facing up now thanks to this video on facing them forwards it just beats my car up too much the other ways. Also when you get a real big system they have to go forward which is where I'm pretty much approaching. Should get Windy if face forward

@@MasterDJRenn I know right. When I had my speakers in a car trunk, facing the subs into the cabin sounded better than facing to the back. Now in my hatchback I tried it all and the difference is very minimal.

@@MasterDJRenn I currently have four 15s in my hatchback. Two dual boxes, one with two skar sdr 15s and the other box with two dayton audio HO 15s. Dayton 15s are facing to the back and the skar facing to the front. Trust me, I tried different positions and the way I have it right now sounds excellent. having port and subs facing up sounded about the same but gave me more vibrations

I find this in my crewcab pickup as well. 2 12’s pointing up SUCK. Everyone says It should be up. Back or front is way better on ported 12’s.

@@MasterDJRenn what about to hear the subs outside of the vehicle, i have my stereo mainly for camping, i have an suv and about to get 2 12" sundowns the box will have the subs facing out on once side and the L port on another side, so i can do subs up and port facing out the back, or port up and the subs facing out the back with the rear hatch open
@MasterDJRenn Жыл бұрын

@@MasterDJRenn Yhea i get it, was just wondering if subs hitting something in the car is better than the subs just pointing out of the rear hatch to the open, do you loose bass by it not rebounding off anything?
@MasterDJRenn Жыл бұрын
@@kevinc5917 You’ll loose bass for sure with the hatch open. Most of the bass in car audio is because of cabin gain, hatch opened equals lost benefits from cabin gain.

It seems to me you have no idea here your sub box is a SQ sound output only not for spl or lows. To fix this BUY OR BUILD A SPL BOX AND CHANGE THE SUBS TO SUNDOWN SA OR U SERIES SUBS AND HERE AND FEEL THE DIFFERENCE......
@MasterDJRenn3 жыл бұрын
Completely the opposite, that box is tuned high (around 38hz) making it more spl than SQ. This video was simply a placement test. Ive installed hundreds of systems in all shapes and sizes from a few hundred watts to many 10's of thousands of watts so i'm well versed in the field, so saying I have no idea is kinda silly. PS there are subs that cost way less than sundown and outperform them, Sundown audio is ok stuff but WAAAAAY overpriced.

So would u say the subs facing forward produced more wind in the cabin? I'm currently running 3 ab xfls. Subs up port back in a suv. I'm tired of the rear glass and hatch rattle and was thinking about turning the box so port faces forward and subs up.
