On this ISS pass, I manage to make 2-way contact with John K8YSE from Ohio, as well as WB1FJ in New Hampshire!

Nice contact. I remember spending time on the radio in high school, I don't remember the dude who ran it tho'. I thought the callsign was VY2CRS but that doesn't appear to be the school anymore

Sorry about the close-up focus fail, folks. My wee camera display didn't look blurry when I was filming.

Hi, there was a lot of you saying the phonic alphabet. I get when you were saying your chanel code, but I didn't understand the rest. Were you having a conversation, or just quoting chanel names at each other to verify who was connected?

Yes we use lots of phonetic alphabet both ways to make sure we have each other's identifier callsigns correct.

I don’t understand how any of this works , but it’s amazing, thanks for putting this on the Internet

That's the first time I've witnessed this. Very interesting and well done! How does NASA stay in constant contact with the ISS?

They have a very sophisticated and redundant system using Tracking and Data Relay Satellites (TDRS) at higher altitudes - as well as ground stations all over the world if necessary.

im from india and no one knows about it can i make an contact to iss if i have a radio ? what code word should i say its so confusing lol

Hello Kailash. There are several requirements for making that kind of contact. First, I would check with the Amateur Radio Society of India, at arsi.info/. They would have information on licensing and operating procedures that would apply in your area. Good luck!
