I been studying philosophy for 15 years and this is the clearest and on point explanation of the backwards law I have ever come across!... and I've seen/heard/read a lot of them.

No matter what life has put you through, no matter what adversities are blocking your path or who's giving you trouble, you are your own worst enemy, and you alone have more potential to fuck yourself over than all other factors combined. Likewise, you're also you're own best friend, and you alone can change your life for the better and you alone have more potential than any other factor to give yourself an ideal life. You just have to ask yourself, what is ideal?

You can do both. I don't think you need to extinguish all desires and definitely not kill one's ego
@russy42810 ай бұрын
I think that ego's are multifaceted. As humans our psychological conditions are spread across a holistic spectrum. The video asks us to analyse actions for e.g; A dictator may search that part of his ego which causes oppression thereby great human loss.

Question. How do you combine the backwards law of letting everything be & flow with awareness and visualization/action to bring about the law of attraction? Does the law of attraction gel with the backwards law, or are they opposites in that they can't be applied together? Or do you simply let things flow and accept them for what they are while spending time meditating awareness of breath, visualizing the success in your mind, and going out and putting effort into something without trying to force an outcome (Just going out and doing things like working/saving $/making a business plan) but not paying any mind to the success/failure, and just letting the outcome be? Anybody with knowledge and real-life experience with this mind elaborating on what they've experienced?

From what I understand, the point behind the law of attraction is that the effort you are putting in is not to deliberately attract your desire, the effort is put into bettering yourself for your own benefit, and as a natural consequence, people will be attracted and want to be a part of it.

The Law of Attraction and The Backwards Law can be seen as complementary in some ways, despite their apparent differences. 1. Law of Attraction🧲: This law posits that positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences into a person's life. It emphasizes the power of focusing on what you want to attract and manifesting it through your thoughts and beliefs. 2. The Backwards Law🙃: Coined by Alan Watts, this concept suggests that the more you pursue feeling better and striving for happiness directly, the more you set yourself up for disappointment. It proposes that embracing and accepting negative emotions paradoxically leads to a more fulfilling life. Here’s how they can complement each other: • Balance in Emotional Approach⚖: The Law of Attraction encourages a positive mindset and visualization of desired outcomes. The Backwards Law reminds us that it’s also important to acknowledge and accept negative emotions when they arise, rather than suppressing or avoiding them. This balance allows for a more realistic and holistic approach to emotional well-being. • Intention and Acceptance🙂: The Law of Attraction focuses on setting clear intentions and believing in their manifestation. The Backwards Law complements this by suggesting that true fulfillment often comes from accepting things as they are, rather than constantly striving for something different. It encourages a deeper level of contentment and peace. • Mindfulness😌and Awareness🤔: Both concepts emphasize mindfulness and awareness, albeit in different ways. The Law of Attraction encourages being mindful of your thoughts and beliefs to align them with your desires. The Backwards Law encourages mindfulness of your emotional states and the acceptance of what you cannot control. While they approach happiness and fulfillment from different angles-one proactive and the other contemplative-they ultimately share the goal of helping individuals achieve a more balanced and fulfilling life. Therefore, rather than being opposites, they can be seen as complementary frameworks that address different aspects of personal growth and emotional well-being.😁
