How deep the cut, how to know which part should remove?

not so deep just remove the part of the root stock esp the core, u can tell by the colour and texture 🙂is different from the scion

Why don't you just leave it to calus then root it instead of harming the cacti I think it will be stronger with dragon fruit roots

it’s not harming the cacti! for your information it is called “Degrafting”.. it was calloused before it was potted.. and if you watch the whole video you will see a successful degrafting method..
