I think it's important to mention that the few saved from the 'kill list' are Shiv's picks showing a major shift in power. Shiv was being iced out by her brothers and seemed to be powerless, but then she makes a major comeback with her wits and social skills.

@@Jules-oo4rr But Shiv mentioned Jerri's name to Mattson during their conversation, and he kept Jerri. Not saying Shiv won't fire her, but my point is that she shed Jerri's name in a good light and Mattson trusted Shiv's word. Everyone she mentioned was spared.

While I agree with you about keeping Carolina and Gerri at Shiv's advice. I think the shift in power comes from Mattson. He manipulated her. While something clearly happened between Ebba and Mattson, I'm not sure the blood story is real but that whole scene was set up to get Shiv on his side. She took a picture of her brothers without them knowing for Mattson. Her ego is getting in the way of common sense.

I don’t think the Matson story about blood is real. Not sure why he’d give that dirt to the people with whom he’s negotiating at the moment. I think he told her the story to test whether she’d take it back to her brothers or not. The brothers not bringing it up atop the mountain probably means she didn’t tell them and suggests the kids aren’t on the same page but as dysfunctional as they seem. Also, Did anyone notice if she was actually drinking or just carrying the glass so as not make people ask her why wasn’t drinking? I forgot to pay attention to that.

I mean, Matson thought the boys saying the movie wasn’t going well was them tanking the deal. So why would Matson tell Shiv a much worse example of that type of baggage narrative?

I think its real. It reminds me of when really rich people do messed up shit and think they can get away with it (like Armie Hammer being a grandson of a super rich family and being into cannibalism). People think he said it to Shiv just because he’s weird with women.
