Okay. Since nobody wants to say it, kindly allow me to address the elephant in the room. Also.. Consider this a spoiler free review. The Movie Succubus released in the year 2024 is basically a safe for work attempt at making a Not Safe for work succubus film. The movie dances around the themes of how a broken and lonely single father falls into the grasp of the online thirst trap industry and becomes a sorry excuse for a Man driven by his base desires. While this premise is symbolic to the reality of our world. It'd be a stretch to say that the target audience would in anyway relate to the lead actor's portrayal of the character. The lead in this film is the weakest link of all and often comes out as shallow and desperate. The movie could have given him a lot to work with for his motivations but the general approach of being risk averse, tanked the significance of the story. In the end the movie picks up pace and becomes a thriller a little too late and spectacularly fails to stay on that beat by being too greedy for a sequel. It's also apparent in the film that the movie is actively trying to avoid nudity in a movie named SUCCUBUS. I'd have respected that decision if it wasn't so biased toward females. Men in this film get plenty nude scenes. In one shot we also see the "Act" clearly visible. But when it comes to females the movie becomes very shy in it's nudity policy. Actors all around did a great job but it's a shame we spend most of our time with a weak terminally online lead of this film. Rachel Cook does an amazing job portraying a succubus that is until we get CGI abomination which fails to please anyone on this planet let alone seduce them. Overall the movie is basically an indie short film stretched forcefully in the first half to make it a theatrical release. If you like to throw on something on the TV while you get your groove/work on then it's passable. Just like ign I'd give it a desperate 7/10. Which is really a 5 let's be honest. Anyway kudos to you if you're still reading. Your Mommy will be proud to see you so interested in the Succubus.
