Succulents are DESERT plants and are not really meant to be house plants. However, they are able to adapt to indoor conditions. Here in California, during the summer months, our deserts are extremely hot and dry during the day, with temperatures rising well above 100° F and night temperatures drop as low as 25° F. A succulents natural environment is HOTTT, so I do not see how warmer temperatures in the house can have a negative effect on the succulent as long as the plant is watered properly.

Hi! I got a succulent two months ago and it was good, but suddenly two days ago it started browning/drying and it has almost died. Most of the leaves have fallen off, and some fell off when they were still good. What should I do to revive it?

OVERWATERED. The plant has been watered too much or the conditions(bad soil/organic soil, low airflow, bad sunlight/not enough sunlight, high humidity) made the soil moist for too long. Immediately unpot and check for rot(definitely a rotting situation). If the stem is brown cut the stem above the brown, if the inside has brown cut above that until it is only green. Any rot still on the plant will spread and kill the entire thing. Let the plant callous(just wait a 1-2 days for the cut to heal). Plant in well draining soil(cannot be the old soil. The old soil has rot and bacteria.), DO NOT WATER until the plant has roots. Water lightly if you want to encourage it to root, but that risks rot and may not even help. Put the plant in bright indirect light while its rooting, after it grows roots you can should acclimate(slowly give more light) it to brighter light. Like a south facing window that gets sun 6-9hours a day. Echeveria like 9 hours, something like crassula and haworthia may need 6. Btw! R/succuelnts has a q and a section and it gives great advice for general care!

Hi, PLEASE HELP! I live in Bangladesh and my room has a fan. The soil is well draining and gets dry very fast, within a day. I only got my succulents 2 weeks ago, and I water them once a week since they shouldn't be overwatered, but on one of them 2 of the bottom leaves have completely dried out and shriveled up, and another (a monkey tail succulent) has become brittle and the leaves are getting wrinklier and they keep falling off. Should I water them twice a week or even more often??

Yeah, I guess you can try to water it more, twice a week maybe, and observe if your succulents be better

My succulent often has leaves drying out at the bottom of the stem. I tried adjusting my watering schedule (and have repotted about a month ago because I thought that my soil wasn't really taking in the water) but so far nothing has changed. I've also read that sometimes it's normal that the bottom leaves dry up, so I'm not exactly sure if I have been doing anything wrong at all tbh
@SucculentsBox Жыл бұрын
Yes, sometimes the succulent can have some dead leaves at the bottom and we should remove them to keep the plant healthy. Maybe you just try to remove the dry dead leaves and then observe your plant to see how it's going, if it needs more water or not,... 😉

Sedum of some sort? Looks etiolated/leggy. Or maybe its not a sedum.
