Suceava is my hometown. We moved to Canada 19 years ago. I got to visit Suceava for the first time after 18 years, last summer. It was lovely, Suceava has changed a lot. I wish I moved back and maybe I will, when I retire. I miss it a lot since we came back to Canada😢

A fost odata ca niciodata! Un oras frumos -Suceava . Nu stiu de unde ati luat imaginile pentru film. Filmul e foarte frumos pentru marketing, dar realitatea e putin diferita. Efortul dumneavoastra este apreciat, dar comentariile turistilor se refera la realitate( strazi cu gropi, aeroport fara mijloace de transport local sau facilitati moderne, parcuri neintretinute, sala garii e incuiata) In schimb sint multe locuri de distractie, cafenele...

Imaginile le-am luat eu personal, fara vreo afiliere. Nu mi-a dat nimeni bani sa zic ceva sau sa filmez ceva. Am facut filmul pentru ca prin atragerea tursitilor, atragem si fondurile de care orice oras are nevoie ca sa se dezvolte. E clar ca sunt lucruri de facut, dar tine de noi in ce directie alegem sa ne uitam. E o vorba in engleza care imi place mult si spune multe despre cultura lor: If nothing goes RIGHT, go LEFT.

Corect, încă sunt multe probleme, dar și foarte mult potențial de schimbare și încă mai e speranță. Suceava din 2022 nu mai e chiar cea din anii '90 când era și mai dezolant. Să sperăm că se vor schimba lucrurile în bine și în viitor, cine știe. Per total, e un oraș mai curat însă decât alte orașe din România, sincer. Toate cele bune și Crăciun fericit!

Suceava is almost 100% electrical. They replaced buses with electric ones and most of the cars are electric so this city is nature-friendly

There are, indeed though, some more buses which are electric and they stem from Switzerland, if I am not mistaken, but the traffic is still quite hectic and some cars are quite old, even for today's standards (which, in a particular regard, is not that bad). For example, there's a great Trabant (relatively unwashed but brilliant nevertheless) in George Enescu, heh! All the best and Merry Christmas!

Botoșani e un oraș foarte frumos! Eu am fost foarte plăcut surprins când am ajuns acolo în 2014 și centrul orașului era imaculat. Plus tramvaie din Dresda ceea ce mi s-a părut wow. Ca să nu mai zic și echipă în Liga I, heh. Overall, chiar e foarte fain de vizitat și zic ca sucevean. Toate cele bune și Crăciun fericit!

I kept my comments in Romanian because Suceava and Bucovina needs to attract more tourists, however the local administration needs to do a lot of work to raise to the European standards.

Camelia, thanks for jumping in! I think you're right when comes to local administration. However, the change comes from us, individually. Most of the people want change: the problems we have are bad, but when it really comes to who's going to make the change, they will always pick the others. THEY have to make it, THEY are responsible with the problems we have, etc. While actually many are not able to overcome they own status: recycle? being pro-active? caring for others? common interest? Those are words unknown for the Romanian low and middle-class individual. On the other side, it seems like we were born to complain about the problems we have, because to be honest, every country has problems, but as I said, it's our responsibility to make the change. Complaining doesn't bring us the change we all are looking for.

I think a significant part of the middle class is responsible and knows that recycling is the best choice there is when it comes to a lot of garbage. The problem is that the filtering system does not actually endorse recycling that much and instead throws all the litter into the same dumping ground... That, I strongly think, is no longer the problem of the good-willed citizens who filter their trash as it is their responsibility but of the public administration instead. All the best!

The local administration needs to work very hard and start working for real for all categories of citizens and raise the living standards of the town similarly to a Central European town, as it should be... but who can do that? Not the current public administration, I must say, very much unfortunately... But I'll still hope. At least hope is the only thing left for some of us that we can still cling on to. The town of Suceava relatively yes and the county overall much more. It is even mountainous to the west but there are also meadows and plains in the centre, south, and east of the county towards the neighbouring counties of Botoșani, Neamț, Iași. It is mountainous towards Maramureș and Covasna counties. All the best!

Plenty of other smaller towns in Bucovina/Suceava County are great destinations such as Câmpulung Moldovenesc, Gura Humorului, Fălticeni, Rădăuți and even other communes, such as Cârlibaba (which is absolutely lovely), Cacica, Ilișești, etc. Suceava as a county is very beautiful as well! It is truly worth discovering! All the best!

Yes, Cernăuți/Chernivtsi/Czernowitz is awesome as well! My great-grandfather studied there! It's a very beautiful city. Once dubbed Little Vienna (just like Timișoara/Temeschburg), it can well be perceived as a Little Vienna of Eastern Europe, so do I think (as per the following source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chernivtsi). you check the AirMap app + the DJI flight map and see if there's any spot with restrictions. If not, you're fine. If there is, then the risk is not worth.

Sigur, fiecare alege sa vada anumite parti din oras. In orice padure sunt frunze uscate si lumea pare un loc mult mai rau atunci cand punem lumina lucrurilor pe ele, fara sa aratam si lucrurile bune. Din pacate, asta este un fel de gandire pe care il caram cu noi si in alte parti ale vietii noastre. Sunt lucruri rele in lume? Clar. Dar nu sunt numai lucruri rele. Este Suceava un oras perfect? Clar nu. Este si un oras cu cultura, cu traditie si sunt si oameni frumosi acolo. Sunt ciori moarte si borduri puse aiurea? Da. Dar asa este in viata fiecaruia.
