I read it once said viewers of reactors who LOVE a song will enjoy watching others react to it ... Because they want to see that delight experienced by another person ... ~ And hear what it means to the reactor ... This is why I've seen likely over 100 reactors view this and other songs by Ren. ' These are my top recommendations for further dives into his music ... ~ ' Sick Boi ' / ' Su!c!de ' / ' Down with the beat ' ... Ren is talented at fusioning genres ... .

I was so excited to see this video pop up - I'd been hoping you'd react to it! I only learned about Ren about a month ago and I'm so impressed with what a talented and unique artist he is. I hope that you'll continue to check out more of his stuff because there's an incredible gamut of styles and skills. If you didn't catch it the first time through, this video (like the vast majority of his videos) was shot in a single take. Ren is wearing a lav mic and performing the whole piece live. Also worth noting is that Ren has Lyme Disease but was not properly diagnosed for over a decade. Due to the lack of treatment, he developed severe neurological symptoms that included hallucinations, leading him to be misdiagnosed with a host of mental illnesses. His vulnerability in sharing his experiences has made such an impact in the chronic illness community online but I also love that he delivers his thoughts in a way that is so relatable. Even if you've never been chronically physically or mentally ill, most people have experienced seasons of anxiety, depression, or good ol' garden variety imposter syndrome. The human experience is so universal and I'm so glad to see an artist making brilliant content like this to talk about it.

This is the kind of artistry that gives "broken" people hope. Ren, through this performance piece, has become to a lot of people exactly what he stated in the song, "...the voice that you hear when you loosen the noose on the rope". So powerful, so impactful. The song structure itself is incredible. It starts off as a battle between his positive (Angel) and negative (Demon) aspects, the negative then makes an overpowering last ditch effort to reign supreme, tearing free and trying to take control, but ultimately fails as the final act, being the "God" aspect, emerges Triumphant, though still acknowledging and accepting that it will ALWAYS be a battle because we are all "a coin with 2 different sides". It's a beautifully cathartic and raw musical masterpiece. Ren is truly special. Welcome to the Ren rabbit-hole, it's a trip worth taking. This was the 4th take he did and yes, it was done live. Wait until you hear some of his other stuff, especially his storytelling ("The Tale of Jenny & Screech"). You haven't even touched the breadth of this young man's talent yet. The pig character (imo) represents the doctors and therapist who have essentially butchered him for years through their misdiagnosis. It's the system that focuses on peddling more pills than on genuinely trying to help to fix broken/ill people, caring more about profit than individual health. The bastardization of the hippocratic oath. He literally thought he was going insane because he was told repeatedly that the pain and symptoms he was experiencing were all in his head (psychosomatic). He had reached a point where he literally resigned himself to dying before he reached 30. Turns out he had Lyme's disease the whole time and it ran rampant through his system for 10 years, even to the point of causing brain damage. Ironically, if Ren hadn't gone through what he has, would he have ever made the art he has? There's no question that his suffering has shaped his music and now he's finally getting the recognition he undoubtedly deserves. I've said it before, I'll say it again, Ren is special.

Great reaction. This song is relatable to people in all walks of life. We all have our demons. Whether it's mental issues, addiction or even doubt. Ren has a unique way of writing through the eyes of human experience. Something we ALL share. Thank you, subbed hoping you will do more Ren.

Ren is an amazing artist who talks openly about his struggles with physical and mental health. He can play different genres very well, and he can write a song that will leave you stunned. For a next song, I would recommend either Genesis, Animal Flow or The Tale Of Jenny And Screech (full). The Ren rabbithole is deep and just as crazy as Wonderland.

Here is some additional information on Ren's story that I gathered from old newspaper interviews, articles, and Ren's public livestreams and posts. A handful of people frequently post an earlier version of my comment to various reactions that they copied and pasted verbatim, so if this is a repeat just ignore this comment. I keep editing the information, as needed, and have removed details about Ren that some found to be too personal, such as his full name and D.O.B. All the information here was gathered exclusively from sources Ren personally approved for public release. Ren is a British musician/independent artist/producer, self-taught multi-instrumentalist; originally from Wales. Ren pursued a career in music from an early age. In 2009, while studying music performance at Bath Spa University, Ren began to experience health issues and was struggling to attend his lectures, which eventually caused him to discontinue his studies and return home. In addition, Ren was signed by Sony Records in 2010 and was working on an album when his health deteriorated to the point that he was unable to go on; consequently, his contract with Sony was dissolved. Ren would later relocate to Brighton. Ren's illness often kept him in bed for up to 23 hours daily. Ren was initially misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, which led him to experience psychosis and develop PTSD. It would take seven years before a doctor in Belgium finally correctly diagnosed Ren with autoimmunity, Lyme disease, and resulting damage to the brain, organs, joints, and PTSD. Ren eventually underwent stem cell therapy in the United States, which improved his health, but it has not been a cure. Ren is in Calgary, Canada for at least six months (Summer of 2023), undergoing treatments such as IV therapy and other interventions five days a week, as well as surgeries (wisdom tooth removal and cavitation surgery). His Canadian doctor discovered that Ren also developed a condition called Mast Cell Activation Disorder (MCAD), which has affected the myelin sheath in his brain, his thyroid, and adrenals as well as his bones/joints. Hence, Ren is receiving additional treatments for this previously undiagnosed condition. He recently took a break from treatments and returned to the UK to visit family and friends, and to produce some very ambitious musical projects to be released soon. Let's keep supporting Ren as he undergoes his treatments. Check out and subscribe to his channel; if you are a content creator, ask your audience to subscribe to Ren. Ren's YT channel just surpassed 1 million subscribers. and his videos have garnered millions and millions of views. Listen to some of his earlier work, like and comment on his performances, and let's lift Ren's spirits. If you are a believer, pray for him. Ren is an artist with something to say to the world, and his work is important in these troubling times. Someone has finally created a Wikipedia page for Ren, so there is additional information available.

Others have given the backstory, but Ren is such an inspiation. He has been to hell and back and that physical and mental suffering nuilt into him such strengyh and empathy. His music follows his own values and he truly walks the walk in his life. If i could suggest his song CRUTCH ,written in the depths of his illness. It deals with the fears of driving away loved ones . Also, There are no bad songs many genres. He truly lives and breathes music. New sub here in hopes of more Ren.

Now that you have reacted to Hi Ren, you can ONLY react to Ren and ignore all other artists from now on. 😂 That's how it's been with me for the last few months, ever since I heard Hi Ren for the first time. Without checking, I know that there are people suggesting The Tales of... and Chalk outlines. And they are great. But they are limiting in what you get to see of his awesome musical talent. This guy has such a range of skill and talent and he also makes music that is for the enjoyment of it, and I would recommend mixing it up if going down to the Ren rabbit hole. Sticking to more serious and personal, but bringing a completely different vibe is the song Diazepam. It's his experience with being prescribed and taking Valium and it is one of the chillest, most melodic ear-worms it's been my fortune to hear. Highly recommend. He has some great rap tracks, including a really well done mash up with an EDM track called Losing It. It's bonkers in a great way, it's him flexing his talent essentially, and it works well. It's good tongue in cheek fun. Highly recommend. There are numerous recordings of him on the streets in Brighton in the UK, either with another singer or with a band he was in. There's some great covers of well known stuff, some mash ups of well known stuff with debatable levels of success, there's some original stuff. Multiple genres. All great to watch. There is a fantastic video of Ren with a singer named Sam Tompkins. It is a live ersion of their original song Blind Eyed, featuring an angry carpark attendant. If you can explain how those kids sound that good, or how Ren, without a guitar strap and having busted a string managed to make it look effortless... Well, I'm all ears.

Ren's fans only want one thing first and foremost: to push his music forward because he is an independent artist. How else could he become better known? The only way to make this possible is to introduce his music to as many people as possible. If you look at it from that perspective, maybe you can be a bit more forgiving, because Ren is a great artist, unique in so many genres. To show his versatility, his people want you to watch several of his music videos, because only then will the audience realize his true greatness. I hope that the statements of a few don't stop you from enjoying his music. Greetings from Germany 👍🤝👍

@@BirgittHGer I have an honest question for you. Will you take the time to support Jmax, as an independent creator by watching his other content, or only his reactions to Ren? What about this specific reaction did you like, or did you even watch what he was doing or only the Ren video on the screen? What good will it do him to cowtow to your wishes like an overlord with a whip that will only lower the algorithm on his other videos and thus hurt his channel?
