SS is interesting... Also, I am playing on ultra didn't realize, FPS counter is enabled on the bottom left. Players on this server are generally less active and less able than the SF counterparts. I haven't touched AP in around two months but I suppose I was going overkill finally trying out SS after moving this char off DM months back - I found DM to be relatively disappointing and I got bored of dealing with the delay. Anyway, hope everyones doing well & SS seems to be the place to be if you're still learning. Really there's no better place than playing matches with healers while learning, for some reason there's 5 different healers in these two games, unheard of. Not something I see much of at SF.

Was playing on SS the past 7 months and recently moved a couple characters over to SF. Unfortunately Satele Shan has around 1/5 of the population (my best guess) and queue pops can sometimes be very painful to get. Also recently some of the more hardcore PvPers on SS have started to disappear, I guess either tired of the game or went to another server. SF has been great and indeed the players there are generally better than SS. Nice video man

It sucks that it still costs so much to move characters, but it seems it's not a bad idea to have a character on both. Ss is much more chill, it seems. Great for players, not like me, I suppose. But it's fun to dabble now and then.

Always fun to watch your vids, Cease. Glad you're back! This may be the wrong video to ask and I apologize, but I was seeking some advice and think you're my best bet. In this current meta, do you think learning a DF gunslinger or a lethality op would be better for PVP? For reference, I only just recently got back into swtor after 8 years so I am relearning at this point. Thanks in advance chief!

Both of them share some useful implants together. PvE wise viru is just more fun though, sharing wise Slinger + Ruffian is the way to go. Along with that when it comes to skill level I say DF/Viru is easier to perform on and easier to get destroyed on. While Lethality / ruffian would be the opposite. So kinda pick your own kinda thing, durable and a different kind of skill ceiling, or squishy and somewhat reliant on team / kiting. Personally both are fun and if I had to pick i'd want to know if you're melee or ranged player by preference. Which it is i'd pick by that.

@@CeaseFaith Appreciate the thorough response! In most games, I had a preference for ranged characters (elemental shaman and fire mage main in WoW). I've been trying to spice it up a bit on swtor and try out everything. I think the best spec for me overall will end up being lightning/telekinetics, but I want to try all classes in some way depending on my mood haha. In terms of these two, I was inclined to try lethality, I'm actually open to having to put more effort into a class. However, I kept seeing people speak of it being kinda worse than virulence right now due to the influx of ranged players at the moment. I haven't seen much talk of the class since the lethal strike nerf and I haven't had any content creators or discord/forums to see discussions of where they sit right now either, while I see tons of sniper stuff everywhere. So it really made me wonder.

@@shavant1 I do have a lengthy guide on the spec, it still excels. But I am not the average player. Plenty I can help with when it comes to melee expertise but I am more limited on range though I do think viru/df is the most fun ranged atm.

@@CeaseFaith Very fair and I definitely know you favor melee! I may or may not have binged every video of yours recently as I waited for you to return, haha. I guess I will give DF a go for now and maybe casually try out lethality on the side as I get more comfortable with the game. I have a bit to go anyway as I unlock the pre-reqs for PvP. Thank you for all your help and I will leave you alone now! Though, if you ever have time, I'd happily request a Lethality video soon. Just gameplay, not a guide; just to see how you go about it nowadays (maybe in a ranged heavy match just to see the "hard" environment for it)

Honestly I think regarding player skill, we have seen a massive decline mainly due to a lot of the community leaving due to the lack of fixes or updates to PVP and the game as a whole. I mean think about what came out this year, we are almost done and SWTOR in 2024 has been largely forgettable. The biggest problem and I've said it on the forums is the over simplification of the game. It made every system dumbed down to the lowest level. Pruning especially hurt PVP because it took stuns, defensives, utilities away and just made it basically dummy parsing. Regarding PVP seasons, broadsword made it essentially a participation game mode where you can go to an objective (Say a turret on yavin) cap it, and just go in stealth and farm medals. Or even better just go in a corner in stealth and do nothing the whole game and get rewarded because your team did all the work. This is just warzones by the way. Arena's I don't even touch anymore unless I play with my buddies because trying to win Arena's now with randoms is a nightmare. Its where their lack of skil really show and it costs you numerous matches. The other issue correlating player skill are the premades that Q. I've met a lot of solo players who do want to get better at PVP, but they cannot due to the premades farming and tunneling them every warzone. Last thing I want to bring up is player toxicity. Just today I was curious about the World PVP going on ilum as I heard it was good, I go there and lo and behold there was just a bunch of players at the middle of the event area farming anyone. They were extremely toxic and even followed me to fleet and harassed me there. They gloated about how they were gold flair ranked players yatta yatta everyone else is garbo except me. Y'know the usual. I didn't care what they said I was just Qing Warzones and was on gree to kill time. In fact the whole time they kept trash talking me I went 10K DPS and 100+K total crits on my warzones so I at least had my fun there. The point for that being though, I have never seen the game more toxic, even back during launch 7.0 I rarely if ever encountered PVP toxicity and now its just something you have to deal with and its a big turn off for me and others dealing with these children. And uh yeah, they need to do one big NA Megaserver and one big European megaserver. Combine the servers to help the pops.
