I was born in hosapete just half km from this temple in ranipet where my grandfather lived he said that this temple has a special history.Once King Krishnadevaraya was returning to hampi from tirupati when lord venkateshwara appeared in front of him and asked him to build this temple and his will come as swayambhu idol and said him to not look back at tirupati till he goes back to hampi.On his journey to hampi he suddenly heard the sound of gejje from backside then he looked back and therefore no idol got placed in this temple.

What an amazing Temple. Maybe the Murthi was made of gold etc in sections and joined together inside the inner sanctum. I was born, grew up & educated in Bengaluru & left India 20 yrs ago worked & lived in US & now settled in vancouver Canada. While growing up we didnt get to travel much due to various reasons & still want travel all over India when its possible. I have to say that you have done a wonderful job of capturing historic places with good guides & special thanks to Mr Manjunath Gowda for his exceptional knowledge of history & his enthusiasm to explain. Kudos to both of you & my heartfelt thanks 😊 Many a times I felt as if I was walking & looking at things myself. You can do great educational videos about such historic places as it greatly helps school kids, college going or anyone interested in our history. Liked the way u said i m public👍 I heard from.locals and my relatives that there is a story of not installing statue here. The king was asked by God in his dream to not to look back while carrying the statue towards temple, but due to strange sounds ( gajje sounds) he looked back and the statue vanished. I heard this from my Doddamma who stay here in Anchungudi village since 40 yrs. Just wanted to share with you.

This temple remember's me the Ananta Padmanaba Temple, Tiruvananthapuram, Kerala. I mentioned the similarity of both temple (it just my observation) 1) temple structure. 2) Garbagudi (both temple will see the god in 3 windows). But Kerala temple anatha padmanabha Murthy is small and we can't imagine 100 feet Murthy. But we are unlikely not having the Murthy.. but we could prevent this temple for future. Thanks for the video and tons of info about Hampi. Hope ASI and proper authorities will clean those bushes growing on those Temple structures. Hope local people make sure these holy sites will be preserved and protected for coming generations. These dynasties perished to rubble for the same reason we face it even today. We think their issues are different than ours but in fact for me it’s same. If these issues not solved now, interestingly and for sure history always repeats and the outcomes will be sad. I could give one best example here; The Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Ranganatha, a form of the Supreme God, Maha Vishnu, located in Srirangam, Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, India Moola Moorthi Sri Ranganatha is made up of cement covering 1008 Saligrams Similarly, in this temple, Vijayanagara emperor made a statue.
