Everyone always get all aghast when Magnus says 17000. Considering his age, it is not that many. He is older than Lorenzo as he calls Lorenzo young in 3x02 and Lorenzo says he is only 484. Magnus should then be at least 550 to 600. At 600 that would mean he averaged 2.3 persons per month. If you look at the momentos in the box, you can at a glance see about 10 momentos which is 10 committed relationships. In 1x04 Hodge mentioned that Magnus did not shy away from the hedonistic part of life and Alec's dad mentioned in 1x13 that even by Warlock standards Magnus was considered a lothario. I think that might be by mortal standards.

Well... according to the books, Magnus should be around the 400 years by now. However, I think he is older in the series but his age is never actually mentioned. It could be possible that they stuck with Magnus’s lie in City of Glass.

@@200Misaki002 actually there is an inconsistency in the books as well. I can't remember what page or which book, but it does say he is both 400 and 800 at different points in time

@@beccy-boo8798 it's not an inconsistency if you consider that it was Magnus himself who said to Alec that he was 800 years old AND that Magnus lies about his age as a defence mechanism (as stated in The Bane Chronicles). Magnus lied to Alec about his age at thw begining. By the end of the books, he was more honest and states an average of his real age (because there is never a mention of his exact age). That, unless you want to consider it as a mistake and Clare fixing it in later books, but that is up to each reader.

What makes me wonder is the image at 0.25 is it Camille or Tessa because Tessa has to exist because Jace exists and therefore is still alive. It could be either and the fact that Camille now has brown hair is confusing me. It would make sense for it to be tessa as they are 3 warlocks taking a photo together. It and if they hadn't seen eachother since 1878 then it could well be Tessa. An eternal question that will never be answered.

It's Camille. In that scene, Ragnor and Magnus were talking about Magnus and Camille's relationship and breakup. Camille could have had brown hair in that black and white picture or she dyed her hair brown

Because when a mortal and a demons and demons cannot have children because they are descendant of lilith who was punished by God and cannot ever have children so her blood related children cannot. When a Warlock is born they are half demon half human they are infertile as a result of the mixed blood and it's kinda like a cost paid for immortality. There are some warlocks who can reproduce, case and point Tessa Gray who isn't mentioned in the show who is half unmarked shadowhunter and demon. Her mother was unaware of being a shadowhunter when a shape shifter demon had sex with her and therefore had tessa. Tessa van reproduce but only with shadowhunters. Hence why the Herondale line is so strong and highly regarded because Tessa's demon blood infused with the shadowhunter blood made them stronger than normal shadowhunters and gave them special bonus'. I hope this helps in any capacity.

By "coddle" he means "mother" or "sheild". Jace is telling Magnus that he is being over protective of Alec by trying to keep him from harm. And when he says "latest soldier boyfriend" - Alec must have told Jace (or Owl Jace) about George, Magnus's previous soldier boyfriend. Jace was just trying to get a rise out of Magnus by poking him in a sore memory. Does that help?
