I had the pleasure of meeting Hatch when he was still playing and he was super nice. I remember his handshake being very strong lol.

Ludwig used to come to the UP and play softball in the off-season. The man could hit softball 400 feet nice to see these legends of defense.

Tinordi was the Captain when the club left Minny and arrived in Dallas. He broke his femur in a game in L.A., Feb 1994 and never played another game for the Stars. He was traded to Washington just before the lockout-shortened season began. That's when Neal Broten got the 'C'. He (Broten) was then traded to New Jersey that season, and that's when Derian was given the permanent Captaincy

Dallas Stars hockey in the 90's was the real deal especially playoff time..raised my kids to love Stars Hockey and now their grown and still love the game..Shane Churla was a bad man glad we had him in Dallas..great memories including when Hatch sent Roenick to see a dental specialist

Mark Kevin and Derian Hatcher brothers in North Bay were so fun to watch - I wish that style of hockey was still around it just isn't the same

F’ing Dallas Legends!!! Love you boys! Luds, thanks for what you have done for amateur hockey in Dallas! “Any stories [about Eddie]? A few stories.” Yeah, only a few! Dartmouth!!! Go Big Green!!! I graduated there in ‘87. Joe Nieuwendyk used to show up once a year with Cornell and terrorize us!

#2 Should never be worn by another Dallas Star. Hatch is #2 and anyone else who wears will never do it justice. That number should be hanging in the arena with 9, 26 and 56 from those teams. Maybe a Hatch part 2 and U can get more into Hitch. Great seeing the Captain back in Big D.

I loved watching Hatch play. Wished there were more big bruising D-men like him in Hockey today

I heard Ray Ferraro describe playing the stars of that time - going to the net with two serial killers in front - Ludwig and Hatcher . pretty classic

Craig Ludwig blocks ALL the shots... Hatch keeps his eye out for Jeremy Roenick :) ETA: The Stars *really* need a Hatcher-type defender. They got punished by the Oilers.

He still has Jeremy Roenick's teeth marks on his elbow

Never saw Hatcher win a fight with anyone near his own size ...He was a big destructive intimidating defensive force but not an elite fighter in my estimation ... He played dirty much of his career during an era with lots of dirty nasty play ....He played his punishing role pretty effectively ...
