I've made Castile soap before. I put my soap into individual soap molds instead of a loaf mold. It works out so much better!! :-)

Wow!! That was one hard bar of soap! I'm surprised you were able to stamp it. Lovely color!
@CorenaGaroutte

Sometimes if you put it in a warm oven you can complete that jell faze and it will be soft enough to stamp. Put a piece of plastic wrap over soap and try stamping it through the wrap so it doesn't pull soap up.

I made this type of soap a few days ago just for the curiosity . And this was happening to me also when I cut it. I left the bars to dry on the shelf and am going to tidy them later. I think that for this soap it is better to use individual molds. We both had the same results! :)

I have made Bastille soap several times and never had a problem with it being to hard to cut.. Maybe because I live in a high humid climate. Also I don't think adding sodium lactate or sea salt would change the idea of it being pure castille.

On my previous comment I did not mean to write Bastille. My auto corrector changed it from castille to bastille. Sorry.

You wouldthink as hard as your bars are, that it wouldn't need a year to cure. It will be interesting to hear about the soaps progress. :)

What exactly is the "gel ring"? Is it a phase that the soap goes through or a texture?
@mandimoo87
@mandimoo87 7 жыл бұрын
BMW 1234 gel ring happens where the soap only gels in the middle. if you insulate it you can get the gel to spread or if you refrigerate it you can prevent the gel phase.

I might have missed you saying it but how long was it between pouring and cutting? I don't think I've ever seen one of your soaps this hard at cutting.
@BeScentedSupply

Less then 24 hours!! I should have known better as Castile soap gets super hard quickly. It should have been cut about 12-15 hours after being madr

did you ever try making castile soap again? It's something I'd really like to try but I think I'll either have to hide it to cure so I can't see it regularly or just make some every month and do my best to ignore the rest. 3 kids have worn my patience thin lol
