65 years later, and this is still the best Sinhala film ever to have been made. A flawless masterpiece. The music, the acting, the story... everything in it is just exceptional. It's a sad state of affairs that the Sri Lankan film industry went in the many directions that it did. I haven't still seen a film that has even come close to capturing the Sri Lankan contemporary experience of any age like Rekhava did. It's the gold standard.

Such a nice song sung nearly 64 years ago. Mitrel's acting and her dance matches perfectly. Even today anyone at any age could perfectly enjoy listening and watching it.. Although that talented child singer/actor has passed away at the age of 12 year, even after so many years later we are enjoying her wonderful performance. May her attain whatever ultimate religious goal she believes in.

Perfectly matching acting of the child actor Myrtle Fernando is so great and very impressive. It's very rare to see that type of natural talents among many, but it's so shocking to hear that child star has gone for ever at the age of 12.
