This was written by Marijohn Wilkins, née Melson, was an American songwriter, famous in the country music genre for writing a number of hits. Wilkin won numerous awards over the years and was referred to as "The Den Mother of Music Row," as chronicled in her 1978 biography from Word Books--Lord, Let Me Leave a Song, honored as “One of the 100 Most Important Books about Nashville’s Music Industry!” She was brought up in the faith by her parents, but she had many tragedies in her life. She became rich in Nashville, but it was not enough to make up for her pain. She attempted suicide 3 times, on the floor with a gun in her mouth. Each time, the bullet went the wrong direction. At the end she asked: "Lord, are youj trying to tell me something?" And she wrote this beautiful song from her spirit. She also wrote a song with Kris Kristofferson that was a hit in the 1980's - One Day at a Time Sweet Jesus.

It was amazing how the Lord not only brought me back to Himself. He has recalled me to service! Now I have prayed earnestly prayed for Him to bring a Holy Ghost revival, and Lord, let it begin in me! I started getting more inspirations and in writing. Some opened doors and in some cases my spirituality closed other doors. So now the Lord knows the way through the wilderness, and all I have to do is follow! The unbelief in the organization known as the Vineyard. I have tested several people, common church goers that are inspired by the articles I felt inspired to write. But ran into a wall with a pastor in that organization! These kinds are the ones of the worst kind. I am doing some heavy research on them, the Vineyard, and the results are not at all positive for them. It would fill a volume! Location, C, O. I'm just a plain old country boy farmer. But didn't the Lord use fishermen, the first He called as fishers of men? Didn't Jesus have His main opposition from the religious people? I guess I am In the right company! Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say REJOICE!

You know it's so funny to come across hatred and such even here in a couple of comments. From my early days in Bessemer, Alabama I recall cars with crosses burning on top. From Chicago I recall the riots of '68 after Dr. King was killed and they tried to flare up again when Robert Kennedy was killed; I believe he was a Senator. My mother used singing to keep her Family together after dad left us in the very sixties. There were already five of us before our baby brother came along in '63. So many don't like it when they hear of a White person help a Black person back during the turbulent times in the South but I'll always remember a Sunday morning -today is Sunday and the song "Miracle" by Roby Seay Band just popped up in my mind- we didn't have anything to eat and Mama was walking, PRAYING, with tears rolling down her face when there was a knock at the door. I remember looking around Mama's skirt and peeping at the White Lady talking to her. The Lady told Mama she didn't know her but the LORD had laid it on her heart that Mama needed help. That Lady gave us 11 or 12 bags of grocery. My brother and sister helped Mama bring the grocery in the house. Mama kept saying thank you JESUS and thanking the Lady as the Lady walked away, got in her car and drove away. I had to be only three or four but I could have sworn when the Lady drove pass the railroad tracks the sun in my eyes got brighter and the car was gone. Mama closed the door and cut some oranges in half for us to suck on while she fixed us some breakfast. Sorry about the book, I came here to ask do anyone recall Young Ladies in beautiful, colorful robes moving to the music up above the group? I have never been able to find that video. Thanks! +gejomm1 Well, thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to say my Mom passed in 2012 at 81. It's a nice age but still that does not lessen the pain of her being gone. I was told I was going to be a Preacher when I was 10 years old back in 1966. Mama was an Elder under the Holiness Denomination. I had plans for Mama to Ordain Me and my baby brother but there was a setback when he told me he didn't believe in female Pastors. I made my announcement back in December at the Baptist Church I attend but the thought patterns are different. I have a couple of self-published books: Willie Means Well (But It Don't Work Out Sometime) Some Things I Have Seen published by Authorhouse, 2009; and Willie Means Well (But It Don't Work Out Sometime)-The Meal published by Unique Euphony Publishing 2012 (I believe. I don't have one on hand). I'm on Facebook under Willie Means. The second book is a little more in detail of the first book and I have it on desk top. But Peter stood up on the Day of Pentecost and declared this was that spoken by the prophet Joel, and that was "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, that I will pour out My Spirit upon ALL flesh. Your sons AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. AND UPON MY HANDMAIDENS WILL I POUR OUT OF MY SPIRIT!!" So you have the Spirit of God within you, so do what Paul told Timothy to do: "Preach the Word! Be instant in season and out of season." (Pray tell me what season in or out? I think that is when the Spirit has us speak and says what God wants us to say that goes to the higher priority than our plans. So out of season? Speak the Word!) You are in the right place and I kind of like women preachers. Some have a little different slant on things or a different manner of preaching, as the Spirit moves them. Funny that God uses our understanding and style as He inspired the Word to different writers in their style, yet still remained the Word of God!
