This was the point where the other two helped Jose Carreras back into the ring after his fight against leukemia, they took him under their wings ❤❤❤❤❤ it was incredible beautiful and once in a lifetime event ❤❤❤❤❤

Jose Carreras appears to be the link that binds these three together. The way he interacts with both of them is simply wonderful. The fun and joy he instils in the rehearsals. The absolute humility he has. Bravo Senor Carreras without you there would have been no three tenors

@@inominate2024 Pavarotti sang far more than 10 operas... however several like Manon ( both Puccini’s and Massenet’s) L amico Fritz , La Fille du Regiment or Pagliacci he seldom performed on stage after he gained weight. Unfortunately Nessun Dorma seems to be the only aria wider - non operatic - audiences remember him by- and it s IMO not what he should be famous for! His Rodolfo in Boheme is iconic, as are his roles of Nemorino in Elisir d amore and Gustavo in Masked Ball. Unparalleled. Sheer emotion and beauty.

@@inominate2024 what nonsense, Pavarotti performed Turandot several times, most recent in 1998 live at the Met. And Also it was about 36 operas not 10!!!!! Don't make comments that you know that are wrong!!

The importance of Zubin Mehta, who had to seamlessly combine two orchestras into one and rehearse the whole shebang, is often overlooked. This concert was a freebie for all concerned (although Pavarotti got a backhander from his record company), but when they did it again in LA, at Dodger Stadium, Mehta was paid exactly the same appearance fee as the tenors-$1M each.

Coro de Bellas Artes México 2006/7 (can't remember exactly), we were rehearsing, and Maestro Domingo was dropping by to see a friend. One of the tenors got so nervous he couldn't place a single note, and was so embarrased he almost cried in front of everybody, decided to go backstage. Domingo noticed, found him, encouraged him, and gave him sort of a quick private master class for some minutes. The guy came back as an entirely new person, as if born again, and sang well and confident. We knew because the tenor told us. Domingo didn't want to show off as a hero or anything, he just wanted to help... the kind of person Maestro Domingo is.

Gracefully stood up shaking my hand while with other friends and said: Yes. I told him couldn't recognize you... he said he's going to perform Otello on weekend with Los Angels philharmonic... later on that night the singer noticed him and announced... Great Tenor and down to earth; what a night ...

While Domingo is very comical and, obviously has a fun time with the other two, Jose is just like the typical little brother. Instigating the jokes and laughter, then retreating behind his "mask" of seriousness! Pava, being the "older" brother can't help but laugh but then the playful slap on the shoulder of Jose---What fun! No wonder they enjoyed one another's company so---!
