Suella Braverman calls flying LGBTQ+ flag 'monstrous' | LBC reports

In an address to the NatCon conference, Suella Braverman has blamed Tory defeat on failure to tackle immigration and 'woke virus'.
The former Home Secretary has also come under fire after saying she was angered by the flying of the Progress Pride flag outside the Home Office. She branded the move a 'monstrous thing'.
She has lost the support of MPs from some of the Tory right following this speech.
Tom Swarbrick is joined by Henry Riley, who was at the NatCon conference, and brings us more details.

I don't, I don't actually want the Conservative party permanently destroyed, and I'm perfectly confident they'll be out of power either way. The right has fragmented in the way the left had been fragmented for decades, but it has greater geographical concentration whereas Labour and the Lib Dems and even the Greens were able to contest the seats where they were strongest and not actively compete with each other (though granted part of that story is the collapse of the SNP vote). I'd much rather people like her were marginalised from any party in this country even hoping to hold onto the seats they have, much less gain more.

Of all his failures or errors, allowing Braverman back into Government was Sunak's most shameful moment. The woman is in practice the monstrous thing in our politics, because she's not some unknown Reform party candidate, she was a senior minister in the Government. People like her and Truss belong in the US, it's where they have found a cultural home on the far right. It's where their language and their mimetic message originates from, for all intents and purposes where they have culturally appropriated their ideology and worldview from. Nothing made me more angry and ashamed of my own country's politics than her being able to spew her hate from that high place, including, yes, calling protestors hate marchers not merely as a generalised attack on them, but before they had even marched. If she did somehow become Conservative leader, there really wouldn't be a Conservative party anymore. Just some culture warrior cesspool lacking Farage's charm, and lacking any constructive policy. The election didn't destroy the Conservatives, only they can do that. And that'll be their choice, as it must be. If they really, really want to go down the fascism path, they certainly have the option. But the party will only lose more voteshare until whatever is left of it changes tack, by which point it will likely be too late.
