The version you used cut off the last 5 or 6 minutes. The outro and credits have Richard Dawkins speaking over the top of the video. Here is a link to the full version. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJ2ZnYicfrKefa8 The song is about the formation of the solar system and the evolution of life. L.U.C.A.= last universal common ancestor. The last life form from which all current life on earth descends. Wolfman, I see you noticed the Enter Sandman riff. That section is the evolution of music. Just before that are other pieces, including one by J.S. Bach, and just after the riff is a piece of EDM. The Wembley version is also awesome. The biggest differences are that Wembley is indoors with Richard Dawkins on stage at the end. And Troy's opening part here is with the Irish Low Whistle, and there with a guitar and EBOW.

The Wembley version is also great, with Richard Dawkins appearing on stage in the end, but nothing can beat the Tampere version with the fireworks. Also it could be because this was the last show of the tour and in Finland, that there was much more emotion somehow, maybe also because Floor’s parents and sister Irene attended the show? I noticed that Wolfman cracked a smile when he heard Emppu play those to iconic riffs from "enter Sandman". If you listen closely you will hear at the beginning of the last section it starts with the main melody on keyboard from Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in D minor and then ends with Metallic. This is Tuomas paying tribute to the evolution of music from classical to metal. Brilliant! You are correct Wolfman. The ending chorus clearly states "We were Here"! This could imply Nightwish and the fan being present for the show. However, it also states in the chorus; Man, he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day'll cease to be Greet the last light of the library The key words are "took, had, gave, & But one day'll will cease to BE"! As well as the final line, "Greet the last light of the library". Clearly these lines are from a universal perspective outside of humanity or possibly coming from an Akashic memory perspective? I just saw Nightwish 2 nights ago. It was unbelievable. Floor sounded and sang better than ever. Even though I miss Marko, Troy did a wonderful job covering the background harmonies. Floor was holding notes longer than I have ever heard her do before. The end of GLS might have even been better than the Wacken 2013 show. Don't miss the chance to see them live. Even in the smaller venues the show was packed and the audience was responding and feeding them high energy. I must go again soon. Floor 🙏🙏💖💖🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

You got it as far as it being about evolution. The song is based on the book The Greatest Show On Earth: The Evidence For Evolution by evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins…that’s him doing the spoken word bits. As others have pointed out, the video you reacted to was a shortened version that omits the last few minutes, which has some incredibly profound and moving words from Dawkins in summation. Nightwish is a very sience-y band…Tuomas studied biology at university, Floor wanted to be a biologist as a kid, Marko is very interested in outer space…the band has both an organism and an archaeological site named after them, and Tuomas and Floor both have organisms named after them individually.

The fireworks (and pyro) is more than likely triggered by a MIDI track. There is no way someone could time that properly by hand to make it explode ON the beat.
@rocklobster5322 жыл бұрын
Yes you are talking about micro second timing.
@forkless2 жыл бұрын
@@rocklobster532 Exactly, there is so much to take into account. Trigger delay, fireworks fuse delay, travel time of the sound of the explosion that has to arrive just in time with the stage PA/audience so it is roughly in sync with the beat (you can tell from the concert it is off by a few milliseconds). #scienceandengineeringisfun
@athlonen2 жыл бұрын
Those who were setting off the fireworks were listening to the same click track as the band, so they knew when their time was to come in. Tank the Tech did a huge explanation on this as he’s coded things for this while on the road.
@forkless2 жыл бұрын
@@athlonen Like I said, it is unlikely (read: no chance) this is done manually by a pyro technician listening to the same click track coming from the DAW. It would leave too much to chance. If it is "programmed" there is no need for anyone to listen to anything to push some button to set off the fireworks. They will use these same kind of MIDI triggers that sets off the DMX controllers (used for stage lighting). ps. You may want to listen again to what Tank said about the methodology used. I'm sure he said they will have used something SIMILAR to a MIDI track that triggers (DMX) effects.
@athlonen2 жыл бұрын
@@forkless He also stated that while it could be timecoded, if anything happened with the MIDI while nothing happened to the track, it would all be off, so it was more than likely that those setting off the fireworks were also listening along to the track.

Floor outfit in the same colors as the Finnish flag, so as a Finn it is really appreciated a lot. She does have a sense of style. React more to the Tampere 2015 gig. Bands home turf, big production, Floors parents were there and cool stadium. Everyone watches Storytime Wacken 2013, which is obviously great, but Tampere version is also worth watching. In some point Floor walks over to Tuomas, leans in and sings "I am the story that will read you real" which really hits when you think about this third Nightwish era.

This song is Massive,...Song about Evolution of the Universe , Earth and Life . The song title is taken from a 2009 book by evolutionary biologist and atheist writer Richard Dawkins, concerning the evidence for biological evolution. Dawkins also contributes towards the album. Holopainen explained to HMV in March 2015: "I wrote him a letter a bit more than a year ago and explained the ideas we had for this album, mainly to do with evolution. Since one of the tracks would be named directly after one of his books, it felt like a perfect match to try to get him do some reciting on the album. He sent me an email a few weeks later accepting the invitation." "Later in 2014 we then recorded his parts at Hats Off Studios, Oxford. This is a huge honor for us, since Dawkins is one of our biggest heroes and his writings have been huge inspiration for the album." NWSU 🤘😎🤘.
