Sufferings! Bengali in Pakistan VS Bihari in Bangladesh. Comparative analysis. Shahedin
In this video, we delve deep into the tragic and often overlooked history of Bengali people in Pakistan, focusing on their untold sufferings. The story of Bengalis in Pakistan is one of discrimination, marginalization, and ultimately, the struggle for independence.
During the partition of British India in 1947, East Bengal (which later became East Pakistan and then Bangladesh) and West Bengal (part of India) were separated by hundreds of miles. East Bengal, predominantly inhabited by Bengali Muslims, joined West Pakistan (now Pakistan) despite geographical and cultural differences.
Over the years, Bengalis in East Pakistan faced systemic oppression. They were marginalized politically, economically, and socially by the dominant West Pakistani government. The Bengali language and culture were suppressed, and opportunities for education and employment were limited.
The turning point came in 1971 during the Bangladesh Liberation War. The Pakistani military launched a brutal crackdown on Bengali nationalists, resulting in widespread atrocities. The conflict culminated in the Bangladesh Liberation War, which led to the independence of Bangladesh from Pakistan.
In this video, we explore the tragic experiences of Bengali people in Pakistan, shedding light on their struggles, sacrifices, and ultimately, their fight for freedom. Join us as we uncover this important chapter of history that is often overlooked but remains vital in understanding the complexities of South Asian politics and identity.
The Biharis, also known as Urdu-speaking or Stranded Pakistanis, are descendants of Muslim migrants from the Indian state of Bihar and other parts of northern India who settled in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) during the partition of British India in 1947. Many of them opted to remain in East Pakistan after the creation of Bangladesh following the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971.
However, the Biharis faced significant challenges post-independence. Despite their contributions and loyalty to Pakistan during the war, they found themselves marginalized and stateless in their new homeland. Denied citizenship and basic rights, they were confined to overcrowded camps known as "camps for Urdu-speaking people."
Decades later, the plight of the Bihari community remains largely unresolved. Many still live in these camps, facing poverty, limited access to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities. Their statelessness continues to hinder their ability to integrate fully into Bangladeshi society.
In this video, we explore the struggles and resilience of the Bihari people, highlighting their quest for recognition, justice, and dignity. Join us as we uncover this important and often overlooked chapter of history, and learn about the challenges faced by this community in Bangladesh.
