Taylor has had 9 eras aka 9 studio album releases: -Taylor Swift (Teardrops on my Guitar/Our Song) -Fearless (You Belong With Me/Love Story) -Speak Now (Mine, Back to December) -Red (I Knew You We’re Trouble, 22) -1989 (Blank Space/Shake It Off) -Reputation -Lover -Folklore -Evermore The mountain of Taylor’s during the bridge consist of outfits from her previous eras, be it outfits from music videos, concerts, or award shows. The Taylor at the end that says “I’d very much like to be excluded from this narrative” is her from the VMAs when Kanye interrupted her speech.

Question do you consider debut and fearless one and the same era? And folklore and evermore another? Given that even though those are 4 different albums the dressing was/is kinda similar... At least I do conaider them that way... Debut/fearless share the cowboy boots/sun dresses/ball gowns curly hair though color wise debut was more greens and blues spring(y) were as feraless was more metalic and yellow. Folklore and evermore share the nature/woods thing though color wise one is balck and withe and the other is reds and oranges (you know simbolizing the stations) Well at least that is what I think... Could be wrong... That is why I ask.
@ryliegarcia.3 жыл бұрын
@@missmaggicasares6538 overall i consider debut and fearless to be the same era but more specifically i think they are connected eras meaning they aren't the exact same bc fearless had more of a golden fairytale feel whereas debut as you said was more cowgirl-like nd veryy springy same goes for folklore and evermore, but for folklore and evermore i see them as completely different eras with a sister-like connection whereas fearless and debut i could see how they could possibly be the same era

@julietaruiz31423 жыл бұрын
This was the first single Reputation, when we had not yet heard anything from the rest of the album. The video makes references to Kanye and Kim and also to Katy Perry (the car crashing scene). At first we were led to believe that it was an album that would only talk about her reputation and all the songs would sound like this and "...Ready for it?", but when the album came out we realised that it is about a love story that is born in the lowest moment of Taylor's life. When she says that the old taylor is dead, and that symbolises the scene of taylor in the Rep suit with all the old taylors (those taylors are from all eras: concerts, music videos...). The "I love TS" T-shirts are a reference to a T-shirt Tom Hiddleston wore when they were dating. Right at the beginning, there is a gravestone with the name "Nils Sjoberg", which is the pseudonym she used in the credits of a song by her ex, Calvin Harris (This is What You Came For). When she is in the bathtub, there is a dollar, which represents the dollar she won when a man who assaulted her lost the lawsuit he filed. When her past self calls her a "bitch" she is also referring to Kanye. 8 dancers, 8 ex boyfriends (because of her crazy dating girl reputation). The last scene is brilliant, when she asks to be "excluded from this narrative" she refers to all the Kanye VMAs drama back in 2009 It's such a complete video that it's impossible to write all the Easter eggs in just one comment.

@Eric_The_Eccentric3 жыл бұрын
Taylor: I’ve had several upheavals in my career. When I was 18, they were like, “She doesn’t really write those songs.” So my third album (Speak Now) I wrote by myself as a reaction to that. Then they decided I was a serial dater - a boy-crazy man-eater - when I was 22. And so I didn’t date anyone for, like, two years. And then they decided in 2016 that absolutely everything about me was wrong. If I did something good, it was for the wrong reasons. If I did something brave, I didn’t do it correctly. If I stood up for myself, I was throwing a tantrum. And so I found myself in this endless mockery echo chamber. Rolling Stone: But you also had good things happen in your life at the same time - that’s part of Reputation (her comeback album) Taylor: The moments of my true story on that album are songs like “Delicate,” “New Year’s Day,” “Call It What You Want,” “Dress.” The one-two punch, bait-and-switch of Reputation is that it was actually a love story. It was a love story in amongst chaos. All the weaponized sort of metallic battle anthems were what was going on outside. That was the battle raging on that I could see from the windows, and then there was what was happening inside my world - my newly quiet, cozy world that was happening on my own terms for the first time. . . . It’s weird, because in some of the worst times of my career, and reputation, dare I say, I had some of the most beautiful times - in my quiet life that I chose to have. And I had some of the most incredible memories with the friends I now knew cared about me, even if everyone hated me. The bad stuff was really significant and damaging. But the good stuff will endure. The good lessons - you realize that you can’t just show your life to people.

The best part is that during this whole album she didn't give any interviews or explanations, but she did film her writing and producing this album. Even though Taylor may have a “pop” album or a “country” album, those albums will still showcase other genres. Like in “reputation,” she raps on a couple songs, and in a couple of her country albums, there are rock vibes in some of the songs. Plus, each album that covers the same genre will still differentiate sonically within that genre. That is why they are classified as eras. Taylor said she likes to think of each album as mood boards each with different colors and sounds. I wouldn’t be surprised if she had scents assigned to each album and technology just hasn’t caught up to her genius yet. I really do enjoy your reactions and how you piece everything together. This is one of the most iconic mv of all time. All these are her old eras, or old mv Taylor’s. She is on top and putting an end to the old Taylor, she is taking control. Remember, when she started she was 15-16 yrs old, her persona was sometimes controlled, she was often walked upon. Don’t get me wrong, don’t cross her, but her label told her a lot of what she could and couldn’t do, and she tried to be very nice. She had beef with Katy Perry, but really she is known for going out of her way to be nice, trusting people. NOW, she killed that old Taylor, so she wasn’t going to be walked upon, or taken advantage of, or muffled, or whatever. She was breaking out of the constraints and becoming who she really is. The real Taylor. Yes, she can’t trust them, stabbed her in the back and now she has gotten harder and smarter in the nick of time, she does it all the time. So this has so many Easter eggs……. The dress on the zombie Taylor is the dress she wore in the Out of the Woods music video. The robbing is the streaming agencies that she stood up against and fought for better pay for artists. Reputation era is iconic. Ready For it….. comes in hard, but it is really a love song. It is also a good video. Reputation as a whole is a love album. This song is not representative of the album but she had to do it. She had to own the snake. So what did she do? She created an entire tour around the snake and grossed the most $ in US history. It was brilliant.

After this I want you to react to more of her Reputation era. Like the videos for Ready for it or Delicate. A album reaction would be great too. Reputation was so different and Look what you made me do her comeback after nearly two years. I'm glad that you got the message behind the she's dead line. She said in an interview that the old Taylor means the version of her who wants to please everyone. That wasn't healthy for her and I'm glad she moved away from it. She talks about it in her Miss Americana documentary. You should react to it too. ;) Every album had its own era. I think even Folklore and Evermore are different even if the differences are smaller than normal (for her).If we talk in genres she had country (Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now) country/pop (Red) pop (1989, Reputation and Lover) and then Folklore and Evermore. But even 1989, Reputation and Lover are totally different. I'd like to see your reaction to every album tbh. I really enjoy hearing your thoughts about her lyrics and sounds. :)

Yeah 😂 I forget in what interview she said this, but she basically said “it got out of hand” because even though she had a few Easter eggs that she put in the videos, fans started finding new ones, that she didn’t put in intentionally, but that still somehow connected and eventually even she lost track of how many Easter eggs she put in and how many are actually just fan theories.

9 albums but for me I would say 7 eras (she used to release an album every 2 years up until Rep) Debut, Fearless era - country Taylor Speak Now era - still country Taylor but I feel like she deserves her own moment since that album was self written Red era - country/pop 1989 era - pop, like FULL ON super star *kim/kanye + media drama but also met Joe* Reputation era - pop/electronic Lover era - bubblegum pop / first album she owned / was cut short because of covid Folklore/Evermore era - indie/alternative Also technically we’re in the Taylor’s Version era too… what a time! I think Speak Now TV is next! But also anticipating TS 10. I think she’s in such a good place right now, like maybe she doesn’t feel like she has to “reinvent” herself every album - that pressure isn’t there anymore. Reputation is needed to be made which is made from her lowest and IS THE BEST COMEBACK ON HISTORY. This is actually about 5 eras, from her first 5 albums. Her debut self-titled album was totally country, mainly about a young girl learning to navigate her way through the world. Her second album Fearless was about teenage heartbreak and love fantasies, and has a lot of themes of being a princess in a fairy tale. Her third album Speak Now was a lot of country but some pop, and was about speaking up for what you want and not letting opportunities pass you by. Her fourth album, Red (my personal favorite) was about entering your 20's and experiencing lots more heartbreak and learning more about what love is, the good and the bad. Her fifth album, 1989, was her first completely pop album, and had more themes of learning lessons about love as a twentysomething in New York. All of these albums were well loved until a little after 1989's release when people started hating on her, and so she released reputation (probably tied with Folklore as my second favorite album of hers), and it was all about shocking people with a completely different, dark side of her that nobody would have expected. But what I love about the album is even through all the songs about betrayal, looking closely at the album beyond the surface, reputation is still about love, but just discovering who your real friends are. Just look at the lyrics to Delicate or Call it What You Want. Anyway I know nobody asked for this comment and probably no one will ever read it or care it exists, but I'm going to post it anyway because I randomly felt like going on a Taylor rant because she's a genius and deserves it. So yeah.

The outfits are various stage tour outfits and in music videos that were in any one of her eras (albums). She was country, and made the transition to pop completely with 1989, then her bad@ss album rep, a totally different sound. In this video particularly playing off what everyone has put her through or called her in the media. Before she released REP, she blacked out all of her social media and uploaded a 3 part video of a snake on her Instagram 💀😂 Love Taylor and everything she hides in her videos, lyrics, speeches, & performances 🔥 her storytelling in folklore & evermore are my personal favorite. I started listening to Taylor after Reputation came out. I kind of envy all the fans who didn't hear from her forever, and then got hit with this album. It must have been such an experience: a blow and a justification, all wrapped into one.

The album Reputation is excellent and is more than people think. It is about love during the worst time for her, and not all the album is a response to K&K. You should give it a try; to this day is my favorite pop album of hers.
