@@kamallb4650 indeed. And still, I find myself getting lost in Evermore. It’s as if somehow she knew my life story and put it in an album, though I haven’t lived many of the topics she talks about. It’s that magic that draws me to Evermore and I’ll forever be grateful that she gave it to us 🤍

I've probably told you this before, but I love how you talk about her incredible lyrics. Some reactors don't even mention the lyrics, and I don't know how anyone could listen to Taylor's music and not notice how brilliant her song writing is! All Too Well is my favorite. I also find Death By 1,000 Cuts fabulous ("I look through the windows of this love, Even though we boarded them up, Chandelier's still flickering here" AND "You said it was a great love, One for the ages, But if the story's over Why am I still writing pages?"). Honestly, they are all so good, it's almost impossible to rate them 😊.

I didn’t fully understand Tolerate it until I watched this reaction. Just realized I relate to it more than I thought. I agree that lyrics “Now I’m begging for footnotes in the story of your life” has such a deep meaning and really encapsulates that feeling of being strangers with the person you thought you’d spend your whole life with.

I love your respect for her lyrics and your interpretation of the song. I love how she can make you feel...it's so hard to pick favorite songs. I normally try to think of it as "if you only have time for two songs, which songs would you listen to?" I like to listen to Exileand My Tears Ricochet from Folklore. I HAVE to listen to Tolerate it AND Happiness together. They just kill me everytime. All too Well is amazing...my line is "And I might be okay, but I'm not fine at all." ...and then SO many other lines.

I'm right there with you Suffi! I think that "Evermore" has become my favorite Taylor album and "Tolerate It" is definitely my favorite song off that album. Her lyricism is unbeatable. She's amazing at painting pictures and emotions with words. There's no other songwriter like Taylor.

One of my favorites too. Stunningly beautiful. Sad for the character but I detect an element of passive aggression in her focused energy to him, but she can't or won't speak up to show her anger ('fancy shit!') to be treated this way. 'Use my colors' evokes a young person, inexperienced and unable to take care of self. No job or school? Just waiting home for him to appear. Expecting him to 'tell me now' when it's obvious he is not going to do that... Indiscretion is fun? There's delusion here, isn't she tolerating this too!?... Not blaming her... only sadness for her because she does not have the maturity to get out of this 'love'. TS is such a skillful song writer and performer and captures this person's pain (and maybe anger) masterfully. ... What do you think Suffi...
