These beautiful souls ate not "Gypsy," transcended to Earth to bring us peace, and love. There music and their dance movements are so ingematic at the same time, so hypnotic!. Thank you kindly,

The clip is from a movie called Latcho Drom and it shows the journey of Roma people from India to Europe. I don't know why it was set to Sufi music because that has nothing to do with Roma people? Also lots of Roma don't like being called gypsy.

Latcho Drom is about the journey of Roma people, but these scenes from the documentary show the people that stayed in india, while the ones that left became the Roma community, the ones that stayed in the dessert of Thar developed their own culture. To be honest I know about Latcho Drom just superficially, so I don't know if the documentary talks about this community in their contemporary expression, but that is something that I do know about. These dancers are part of the Kalbelia community, a nomadic, very mystic and artistic community that lives in the Dessert of Thar that exists between Pakistan and India, they do call themselves gypsy when talking with english speaking people and consider it a translation of the word they use to refer to themselves. They have a syncretism of cultures between muslim and hindu, and they have influence from both, specially in their dances and music. The video doesn't show the original music from the movie, and actually, the song from the documentary has more of an indian influence, but you can see examples of kalbelia music with an arabic influence in groups like the Kutle Khan Project, a band that plays music along with Kalbelia dancers.

This isn't from any Berber language neither Berber music instruments, "stand up and dance" is said in Berbers "akker u'cdah" or "akker azwi't arwi't". This song is soufi in one of turkmenish langages but the word "urgus" comes from the arabic verb "irqes"/ the "dance" is said "el-raqs" in arabic.

Why must you degrade some people to lift others up? You can know only a small percentage of the humanity near where you live and you no virtually nothing about these people other than you like their dancing. Yet you level such harsh judgment on people in your own community? Why not just appreciate it without being insulting to others? Maybe as you grow you will learn better.

This has nothing to do with Sufism. This is a clip from a movie called Latcho Drom. You will find it on KZbin with the original music. These are the Kabalia people of Rajasthan, India and they are predominantly Hindu. The ancestors of gypsies. The original music is amazing. Shame on this channel for stealing and lying

You had to wait for this reply for 9 years. They both complement each other. She hits it from more commanding position, while he sits below, I mean lower than her yet has equally important job to forge the tool, position it for maximum strike. It is cos he knows what to make of it. His strike is merely nominal whilst hers is decisive. But look at it as you would at life. Man and Woman make life. Both struggle and strife to run the kitchen, raise children and hope for the good days to return. Life is cruel and harsh and Both have to strike it in turn albeit one harder than the other yet equally important to push the cycle further. Now imagine the backdrop. Harsh, arid and unforgiving. Each of their strike denotes to each of their struggles and the sacrifices they have to lay down. Now, add a pinch of this outworldly music to num the pain while inviting you to celebrate despite their predicament.
