Am I the only one who thinks this is one of the best songs on the album, and one of his best?
@JoeBloggs1129 жыл бұрын
John Klepac No my friend, this has always been my fav of his even now since he's had a few more albums out, in fact its my fav album!
@PepekBezlepek9 жыл бұрын
John Klepac This IS the best song of the album by far. I cannot get enough of that 5/4 time and how he manages to hold the song together.

Plus the fact that he is layering so many different, equally catchy melodies on top of each other.

It's his best song, which is saying a lot
@noahinson6 жыл бұрын
This is definitely like his third best but still friggin awesome 1. Transfiguration 2. To Be Alone With You 3. Come On Feel The Illinois 4. Carrie And Lowell 5. Abraham

this song is probably the most genius piece of music I've ever heard in my life

I look back on that Illinois tour with great joy. Throwing those inflatable Superman's around the theater was fun..Incredible music from a really gifted man

This song is so amazing, it's impressing how he is playing it so casual while it evokes so many emotions inside of me.

this is great. i love the jamming... if you'd never heard soof before this, one would still have to acknowledge his songwriting prowess.

he sort of derps up the defining song of his career, that also defines his style/sound, otherwise nice performance I guess
@Skullkilling6 жыл бұрын
I mean, that's like the point of Sufjan Stevens though right? He's just like one big derp.
@Obscure1284 жыл бұрын

Hm, well I guess I mean the live version more than the studio one. It's good to hear another point of view though.
@opiesfuneral12 жыл бұрын
you know if you're not a Sufjan fan this would just sound like a bad song. pitchy vocals, repetitive, seemingly random lyrics, primary school style trumpets.... But as the Sufjan fan that I am this sounds so great to my ears and just makes me happy.

It’s really just the recording. It would’ve sounded much much better in the room

Please don't get mad at me, I'm an old fart (60) who doesn't listen to much music that was made after the 80's. Sorry. But when I randomly saw this song title and the artist's name, 2 things came to mind. 1) I thought this would be a parody of "Cum On Feel the Noize" by Quiet Riot (80's) 2) And if #1 was correct, then maybe this guy was related to Ray Stevens, who parodied a few songs and had a lot of novelty songs.

I don't know if you're right on that one. This is the first song I heard by him and it got me into him. I'm not a fan of the genre he belongs to, in general, and haven't even really listened to anything outside of this album, and yet I love this song. You could be right in general, but in my case it wasn't true. :)

@trst3616 ай бұрын
Not sure if this was during a tour of the Illinois album, then if so, shame on them heh. But I always get the sense that Sufjan composed songs that are genuinely difficult to perform.
