I found this playlist in summer of 2022. I was staying at my grandmother’s house in the country. Her rich neighbor has a fenced in pool in a field from the 1970’s. They fix it up every summer and keep it maintained. I snuck out of the house one night at 2am and went to the pool. Not because I wanted to be mischievous, but because I couldn’t sleep. I met a guy I fell in love with him, and I missed him so much it was all I could do to not not lay in bed and toss and turn over the thought of him in my mind. Every shape, shadow, and caress I felt the first night I met him. I snuck quietly into the water of the pool and, on my back in the hot summer air, I put this playlist on and stared into the big open sky. And this playlist will always remind me of how beautiful and yet fleeting some of life’s moments can be.
