The issue is with alcohol. Drinking is very socially acceptable in S. Korea. It is doubtful that is going to change. Suga was having dinner very close to his home, so probably thought that his E-scooter would be the easiest transportation for the evening. What is hard to understand is why Suga is being crucified by people who don’t even know him. It happened. It could have been much worse, but I’m not sure the arrest is even justified. He made it home without incident. He was off the scooter, in front of his gate, and as he was trying to put the kickstand down, he fell. Yes, he was over the alcohol limit, but he was not driving when police arrested him. I think a good attorney is needed here. All that are cyberbullying Suga => dislike/thumbs-down and ignore. I’m not sure it is anyone’s place to forgive Suga. We also have to worry about Suga’s mental state and what he is putting himself through. I’m still going to enjoy his talents, humor, kindness, and the JOY he brings to many. Suga may not be perfect - but he is darn close….

🚨It isn’t even a proper scooter that looks like this 🛵. In actuality, it’s a scooter that looks literally like this 🛴, but has a seat & is motorized! Something some pre-teens might even ride. 🛴 Suga wasn’t even aware that one wasn’t allowed to ride one when intoxicated, since laws aren’t specific, at least to his knowledge til now! Suga was even wearing a helmet! Reason why he rode it, was because he drank so close to his home, and furthermore was caught “assisted” while parking & getting off the scooter when he was already home! A policeman, saw him fall, came to assist and smelled alcohol on his breath, so he took breathalyzer and it turned out high! So Suga now has his driver’s license suspended, for I believe a year. At least now he, and I’m sure others in S. Korea will now know that the law even applies to scooters such as this 🛴 that are motorized. At least no one was hurt, plus since he was off duty, had a day off from the military, so it won’t reflect on his military service. 👍🙏🥹🥰☺️😉🛴😔

Plus he did this while serving his social duties (because he got exempted from active duty) and people here are very sensitive about service evasion. He got exempted of active duty because he was injured from a motor bike accident and ironically he drunk drove, while Korean 18-year olds and the other BTS members are suffering in military. There is plenty of social context around it and internationals just can’t understand it.

I fault the nonchalant attitudes of South Koreans to their drinking culture. People get drunk too often and sometimes end up stumbling down streets on their way home or driving while drunk whether by car or some type of motorized scooter. Employees are pressured into attending after-work meals with drinking by their managers/bosses. Some people become alcoholics who then are shamed by everyone else. But, the culture pressures everyone into thinking that they should be able to drink excess amounts of alcohol and never be at risk of becoming alcoholic. That's a foolish and potentially dangerous belief because of the very real risk of bodily harm, property damage, and even death.

I feel sorry for him however when Taemin switched to public service due to stress he attended Onew concert and had to leave early as he had to be home by 9p.m. so why was Suga out late on a Tuesday night drunk and going to have to work the following day, I think that is what I am annoyed about. I hope this blows over quickly as the other boys are doing so well, I also think if he was fit enough to be in the army this would not of happened as he would not be isolated from the other band members. I hope he remains safe and well.

To armys in the whole worlds, These days in Korea, the victims from driving on drunk and electronic vehicles are increasing alot. Some people even lose their family from terrible crash accidents. And even all news say that, he has drunk and driven electronic vehicle. It's really shameful in that he ignored much accidents and victims. If you all are true armys, shouldn't give hugs to him but blame and let him and society not to make same mistakes again.

And here suga was driving a e scooter that too wearing helmet, low speed, And I damn sure that he was in senses that's why he made a decision to Ride a e scooter or else he would have chose a car, cab or even a walk... And unlucky him... While parking that e scooter he fell and a cop was near him... And Such a great soul he is to apologize rather than hiding it... For real it’s kind of dumb a DUI on a electric scooter never heard of that but I don’t blame him he said he didn’t know that he couldn’t drive an electric scooter home drunk I believe him I’d probably just end up doing the same thing But one he’s just human all of them are we love them so much but we do have to remember that they are human too like people get all upset if they seen them drinking or smoking or when Jungkook got his first tattoos their human it’s their bodies yes they are BTS one of the greatest musicians in the world but they’re also just like us we make mistakes too so obviously they will make mistakes too and look on the bright side at least he wasn’t in an actual car driving or something worse than a DUI just because we love them so much any actor or singers they’re still just human and I know the real armies know if you have a problem with it are you a real army not trying to throw shade on people but no matter what they’re human like me and you they’re gonna make mistakes just like all of us.
