Stuff like this makes me thankful for modern technology. From interviews with Dusty, she loved the new technology available musically in the 80s and 90s vs the 60s.... So I'm sure the addition of 21st century technology would be no different. So love seeing young people appreciate Dusty's brilliance as a vocalist and performer.. She truly was the greatest. So glad the Sugababes chose Dusty. For 3 minutes we got to feel like Dusty was performing live for us once again. (Even though it was her performance from the Poll Winner's 1965 concert.) Absolutely loved it. Thanks for sharing this.

This is brilliant! How they've managed to pull Dusty from the NME poll winner's concert of - what - 1965, a 'put' her on stage here is really a magical feat. And one is reminded of just how strong a vocalist she was. Indeed, she alone has more gusto and power thatn the Sugababes all together!

I do like the sugababes, but they were pretty brave to duet with Dusty. Even in virtual form she was in class of her own. I do think she would have been delighted that the younger generation still appreciate her music though.

The duet with Dusty may have worked better if the three girls were on her other side. As Dusty is favoring looking to her right. Very nifty how they imposed her into the duet with the babies. Dusty not only had an incredible voice but also amazing stage presence. Always knew how to work an audience. Those three babies are really great singers.

Staging choice could have had to do with where they had the best/cleanest footage of Dusty for rotoscoping. Maybe they shot a ton of that stuff from one side.

Young presenter hasn't done his homework- both the Springfield guys were not Dusty's brothers-- only Tom was. As for the song, these kids just haven't got the quality, power or depth of Dusty, not to mention the pitch - and there was no autotune in her day... i doubt even Adele could pull off all of Dusty's songs because altho powerful and wonderful, Adele has a stylized way of singing that doesn't demand holding each note of a song strictly on key, she waffles most notes which has been the trend since the 80s, and drops the end off notes wherever she feels like it- would be interesting to see if she could pull off Dusty's amazing repertoire. They just don't make singers like Dusty, Julie Andrews, Streisand, Celine, Aretha, Etta, Whitney, or Adele, et al, every day.... most are gimmicky like Madonna and so many others-- they're still good in their way but not mindblowing.
