This has to be one of the most underrated masterpieces. My five are Halcyon Days, So you say, Sometimes, 12 bar acid blues, Ghosts and because I can't leave it out Don't take me back, making it 6 tracks. This has been the soundtrack to some pretty tough days and when the shit hits the fan, I always drift back to this. I would definitely buy a vinyl or anniversary edition. Absolute masterpiece!!!

I also think that's a great top 5 as well! Aww, that's so special when it has that deeper meaning and then over time it becomes so embedded in your memories - even just hearing a few notes of an intro is enough to take you back to those times and they become the most precious albums I think. I can totally relate and I love that this is your go-to album as well 😉

Really enjoyed watching this... what a great video!... I blushed : ) .thanks a lot... PM me if you would like to go through the demos !! ....I've got hundreds... :) ... I never realised that 'Don't Give It up' was on the record?!!... and my fave sometimes is Medevac ... also 'There's a place' always makes me well up, you can hear me playing Omnichord in it...... I get emotional listening to it still today... It was a song that, to me ,is about the death of my mother, thne lyrics talk ab out that a bit..... thanks again for being interested in our record.... If it gets released again it won't be by Parlophone ... perhaps we could get a picture disk pressing on vinyl... which I'd b e really happy about....

Hey Dave. Thanks for the shout out and what a great drill down into an extraordinary album. How exciting as well to have James get in touch. That must have made your day! Ghosts really is the ultimate 'chocolate box' album. So many amazing flavours and treats. I'm not surprised if there are 100s of demos for these songs. I think an expanded version with lots of demo versions that show the development of the tracks is the kind of thing that the fans that have been taking Ghosts to the meet and greets to get signed would go nuts about. Even more exciting would be hearing the other directions that the songs might have taken!

Her voice will have matured as well, so it would be mind-blowing to hear something new from her in a solo capacity...Though I am still holding out for a deluxe edition (re-release) of this one - I've been lucky enough to hear the demos that she recorded at the time and you could make another album from those tracks alone to be fair 😍😍

I am good thanks Leo 👍 and no I don't have plans to now until the O2 show in Sept - I've got so much on over the summer, I can't justify the cost and travel and I'm not the biggest festival fan, so it's not my scene. But I can't wait for the O2 show, it's gonna be amazing! Are you going to any of the summer shows?

Time does fly fast!!! One of my favourite albums of all time. I have the cd physical copy and don't give it up vinyls. I remember rushing to hmv to buy it after 6th form and they had to play the disc in the stereo behind the till to check it was the correct one before I could leave with it!

No way!!? I didn't know they did that at HMV but I guess it would make sense given the cock-up 🙈 Imagine getting home and finding the wrong disc in the case though... I would've cried for sure! Ooooh the Don't Give It Up picture vinyl is gorgeous isn't it? Mine was in storage because of moving, but it's now in the background of my latest vids and it has to be one of my most treasured vinyls. But even with your multiple copies, I'm guessing you'd still be at the front of the queue for a re-release? I discovered Ghosts totally by accident - during a visit to the UK in the spring of 2007, I saw a huge poster promoting the first single in the subway. So glad it caught my eye… Don’t Take Me Back is my absolute favorite from the era, though over time I found myself loving Goldfish a lot too.

I love your story and it sounds to me like that was one of those "meant to be" moments - I love how music can bring us together like that - no matter where we are in the world or where we come from... I hope you enjoyed your time here? Have you been back to the UK since then? Don't Take Me Back 😫 I'm so with you, it's definitely one of my faves too, and should've been on the album. Saying that, it was a huge treat when we got it as a B-side, but it would have to be on the expanded release if it happens 🤞 Goldfish was a grower for me too - I don't know about you, but the entire album almost felt like an elaborate game of pass-the-parcel in a way for me; each time I listened was like peeling back another layer of Siobhán's creativity and I discovered something new and stunning every time 🥰 It makes me wonder if this is one of the reasons why Ghosts feels so timeless... thanks friend, another great job! I will never understand some points about her solo works. I am a huge fan of her solo works -I am a bigger fan of her solo works than whole discography of sugababes-. It is clear that Ghosts will never be a commercial success since the majority is not interested in the quality of music. But I always found weird how her solo works could not receive greate acclaims from critics! And I dont think Siobhan stands so much for her brilliant works now and then. Recently she has an interview with SEB and when Sophie asks about her solo works she was like, my records have not gained commercial success. My personal fav from Ghosts is Medevac. Thanks again for creating such a platform for my taste. good day!

Love your comment, I obviously totally agree with you, and thanks for not being angry that I didn't include Medevac on my top tracks 🙈 I was worried I'd get a lot of backlash for that! I love it too, though, it's such a great song ❤️ I'm glad that Siobhán didn't conform or just pump out a cheesy pop album, to be honest. Literally anyone can do that and instead she took the most challenging path possible, experimenting with her voice/sound and giving us something so unique and special. And this makes me even more frustrated at the lack of recognition. I fear you may be right... but even though she may not do anything solo-wise in the future, I am grateful that she is still creating music with the Sugababes - for me they are magical as a group - and a world without her musical talent is just not a world I want to live in 😉❤️ Thanks again for watching and sharing your thoughts 🙏

12:08 Ghosts is easily my fave track by any of the Sugababes. 12:32 It doesn't remind me of Enya - instead it reminds me of Alice in Wonderland, with its surreal sound. I also love Goldfish - Siobhán's solo at 2:35 sounds like a transmission from another planet.

Not surprised at all! And I love that description, the Alice in Wonderland surreal sounds, that's an excellent shout. Goldfish was going to be on that list 🙈 I only swapped it out when I was prepping for the video and I got into this weird loop of replaying There's A Place and re-fell in love with it all over again 😂 but it is a great song, and the transmissions from another planet part made me smile, I'm totally with you!! But yes, I had listened to Siobhán's interview on there - I hadn't listened to episode 95 with Heidi - so your message prompted me to listen to that one whilst I was getting ready for work 😀 It was interesting, have you listened to it? I thought the Siobhán one was fantastic, I love how genuine she is and I could've listened to her for another few hours to be honest! But sorry you had such a struggle sharing it here in the comments - it proper frustrates me that there are so many issues with the community side of KZbin, it puts people off - so I'm grateful you persevered and got there in the end 😉

Hey, hope you’re well? This might be one of the first we disagree on. I’m not a fan of Siobhan’s solo work. I can appreciate its creative, but it’s just not for me. Loved Don’t Give It Up and So You Say. But the rest of the album was a bit too left field for my ears. I do think though she bring a creative to ‘Babes that no other does. As for inclusion of solo material in Live shows. All for that, but I’d like them as a trio to tackle these rather than solo spots, I think that would be more interesting. Anyways, that’s my humble opinion, lol! Thanks for starting the conversation and another great video. X

@@DavesDeepDive disagreeing keeps things interesting….sometimes lol! I didn’t know Don’t Take Me Back, however I’m giving Ghosts another go. I think if I go into it with it Sugababe Siobhan rather than ex, I may appreciate it differently. And I’m sure I’ve been exposed to more left field stuff in recent years, haha! There’s no denying her talent. I am an “H” fan, always my favourite. But as a collective, the OG’s do it best. I couldn’t imagine anyone else on those stages than MKS. And the creative with those 3, it’s interesting. I’m not venturing to London for the o2 gig, it’s too far for some of the ‘same’. So I’ll be living vicariously through you, haha! @@lunaticdreyfuss66rogers71 I hear what you’re saying, it’s just not my kind of music. I adore her, but her solo material wasn’t anything I invested into because of its sound. Same with Mutya, she’s amazing, but her solo album, didn’t grab me. But my thing is their 3 part harmonies, so I was never going to be fully in on solo projects. That’s my loss, not a slight on them.
