Though love of money may play a role; it's the fear of not being in control which often lies at the root of why entitled, unthankful narcissistic personalities do not handle rejection well, and cannot take no for an answer. Much sympathy with Brian, who got taken in by someone as unpredictable, and unstable. He did his best to provide what he thought would make her happy, and remained prepared to treat her fairly; this in spite of her cheating on him with his friend. In the first case however, the elderly victim had it coming, since cheating on his wife, and in the third case the man did not treat the mother of his daughters fairly.

I can't believe the moment Brian realised he was still in love with Trischelle was when she's stealing his truck. He willingly went back to the crazy and Tony is trash. While it's not a reason to be killed, how could he put out his common law wife of 25 years and keep her valuables and then be surprised that his daughter wants nothing to do with him while he's living alone in a 3 bedroom house and she and her mother are in a one bed flat?
