As you might know, when sugar and yeast is being mixed together, the yeast will feed on the sugar leaving ethanol and carbon dioxide as the waste products. This is how they make alcohol.

it's carbon dioxide due to the yeast eating the sugar and then expelling carbon dioxide. if you put some starches in it then you are able to create a layer of alcohol on top of the mash mixture
@dinololic5676
@dinololic5676 8 жыл бұрын
+kiiskila12 do you know what happens to the flour? what is it in the flour that the yeast uses in order to release co2? and what is the foam from when you do it with sugar?
@kiiskila12
@kiiskila12 8 жыл бұрын
+Dino saur (Dinosaur) yeah it's from the yeast eating the gluco (sugar) and turning the flour into hooch (alcohol).... I used to work at a ethanol plant this process is nothing new to me

@dinololic5676
@dinololic5676 8 жыл бұрын
kiiskila12 nah, wasn't sure since I could only find what happens when it mixes with glucose, turns out I just didn't do enough research, as yeast consumes carbohydrades and releases carbon dioxide and ethanol. Unsure about the foam though,you know about that?
